A little carnage

Head gasket popped at at the big end of Beach Bend Raceway in Kentucky a few months ago. About 3/4 track I heard a pop and shut it down. Also blew the upper radiator hose off.

I didn't pay attention to how long the track was down after my run. MY ONE SINGLE RUN......

That head is easily fixable at least.

It’s already been repaired. Luckily the owner of the company owes a friend of mine some favors and got mine pushed to the front of the line.

It’s going back together in a couple weeks with new head studs and a set of head clamps made for the heads.

Also, the maker of the “bullet proof” head gaskets gave me a different sealer to try this time. It’s a metal gasket that gets covered in a sealer.

The plan is to put it back together and do some tuning at Milan. It was making a good run before it blew at the 1000’ mark.

Yes. When everything is going right it runs about 165-185 degrees.
