a lil ipod help, please?

i can plug in my ipod and it will charge, but my computer wont recognize it as a device. it will recognize every other usb device BUT my ipod.

itunes wont recognize it as well.

it plays music and charges, but wont sync


help????

YEP....you might have to reset the Ipod too.. I had to do that once. The Ipod site has instructions on how to reset

i cant do anything to the ipod from my computer. if i connect it with the usb cable, it will charge it, but my computer wont even recognize it is connected. even if i go into my comptuer and shit, theres NOTHING.

i will try reseting the ipod. i havent tried that.

all i did was go to the itunes website and download it. did i need to DL other software???

ok i reset it. then i re-installed itunes. THEN restarted my comp. and it STILL wont even show up as a device on my comuter.
wtf?
my camera does, mouse, bluetooth, girlfriends ipod... so im assuming its not my comp.. its the ipod.

IM GETTIN FRUSTRATED! lol

ive been on the apple website allll day tryin to troubleshoot and NOTHING works. i hope i dont have to do a "restore" which would wipe out alllll my music....
