A couple Raptors

Midland Ford has a black one sitting out by the road...every time I drive past it I just wish I could afford it. I think someone just took delivery on a blue one, too, because it was there one day, then gone the next.
 
The 2011 price jump sucks, but at least you get the 6.2 standard now. I'd love to get a white, no option supercab........but I can not justify the $42,500 base price when I am not going to use it for what it was intended, especially with the limited 6,000# tow capability.

6k is plenty for a Mustang on an open trailer though. I think the lightning used to be 5k, and those worked great.
 
The Raptor was meant to tow quads, bikes, snowmobiles, smaller boats and such. Cool toys not cars.

I towed the GT to North Carolina in my enclosed trailer with one and it wasn't a problem. Car probably weighs 3400, and probably had another 500 lbs worth of shit in the trailer. I was pleasantly surprised, and going through W.Va and the northern part of N.C has A LOT of mountainous terrain.

How big is your trailer.......any idea what the trailer weighs or take a guess at the total weight towed??

If a Raptor can occasionally tow up to 7,000# to the track, I will order one. My car weighs 3520# so I need to be in the 3000# range for trailer and accessories.

Curb weight on a Rance 8x16 Renegade enclosed aluminum trailer is 2450. And Forbes right up the street is a Rance dealer.

It's a 24 ft enclosed. Same as the one in this pic:

The trailer weighs 2300 according to the internet. Car is 3400. 4 extra wheels and tire and a bunch of boxes full of stuff. It was well over 6000 lbs being towed without a problem.

EDIT......LOL, I should have known you would go to their website for the specific weight. That 20 footer is only 170 more pounds :mmm:

A 24' enclosed that is 2300#, even for all aluminum that is super light. Care to share more info on that trailer.....you can PM me if need be.

The brand is Trailex. It's supposed to be the lightest trailer out there. I know alot of people that have had really good luck with them. I would not say that's the case with mine. It blew a bunch of tires on it's inaugural journey (looked and they were years old), the winch has worked about 10% of the time, silly stuff like the handles not being what I'd call well constructed and getting sticky or breaking. It's mainly dumb stuff and the thing is super light and is barely noticeable towing, but they cost an arm and a leg and I expected it to be more robust.

If I had to do it over again, I'd get one with a pull down door I could drive right up. The ramps are a nuisance. It does have a flip up driver's side door though, which is an extreme necessity for this particular car.
 
my brother tows his coba on an open trailer with his raptor, and a quad in the bed, and he said it drove perfectly fine.
