A couple cool little bikes I did this week:)

Hey J, any time man!

really skilled man, there are some aero space jobs out there that would bank you pretty well if you go for the cert.

we have a plasmatherm unit in our garage, plasma cutters are worth there weight in gold to any fabricator.
I'd really like to do something like that, I'm in a holding pattern right now. I'm nervous but excited about the future.

Up untill last week I had access to a plasma at my full time job, but it self destructed!
cool little bikes, didn't you do planes too? any cars or trucks?
I've done a few, they are in my photo gallery on my site. Pretty much everything I've done in that gallery, with very few exceptions, has been done within the last year! Bike #54 is actually my 50th bike since the beginning of the year.

I was heading to bed last night when I replied, here are some pics of a few cars and a truck.

:applause:

that is amazing man, you do great work, I wish I could weld a quarter as good as you.:thumbsups

Nice work Josh!! You ready for another keg?

What do you do with kegs?

Also, when I get some extra money, I wouldn't mind something like this...

Except maybe slammed and rat rodded out :badass:

He brought me a keg and some fittings and I welded them in and cut out the top so he coculd use it as a brewer.

That was my original idea for the truck, but it didn't it didn't quite happen. I'll pry do something along those lines soon just for the heck of it:)

Do you have a game plan when you start some of these projects or do you just starting going to town and start putting together nuts and bolts and metal?

I've usually got an idea in my head. I don't really "plan" anything though, I just plug stuff in until it looks right. Although with the mustang I did look at the nut size compared to the car's tire size and find a ratio, then base it's wheelbase off of what a real mustang's would have been. I think it was right around 1/15.

Sometimes stuff happens based on old parts I find. Like the slingshot dragster, I had that old screwdriver I used for the length. I saw that and knew I wanted to build a dragster out of it. I've built a couple bikes around little odd pieces too.

Other times people want certain things, and those are the most difficult. I used to be nervous about how they'd turn out(like the mustang, or the plane, or the electra-glide, or the ghost rider), but each one ends up being pretty cool. So at this point I'm pretty confident I'll figure out a way to finish each project:)

Damn, I cannot weld anywheres near that. Not even remotely close. You are good.

As my sensei told me long ago: "Be the puddle grasshopper".

I think it would be cool to get shirts done up with my dog dressed like the karate kid and that saying on it. I'm not sure any non-welders would get it, but it would still be sweet.

how much do you charge for those motorcycles

The first bike I put up in this thread was sold for $60, and the other one is on my online store for $50. I've got a couple other in the store for $45. . I've done a couple full dressers and charged 75 and 80 for those. I really haven't built up an inventory of them yet, they sell pretty quickly!

I live just north of downtown. Let me know when you want one, and I can make something up or you can give me an idea to work with. If you ever want to check some of the stuff out locally, the art gallery at the corner of Macomb Place and Macomb has some of my work. The soon to open Detroit Clothing Company at 14 and Harper will have some stuff too.

Where are you at?
