I thought I would ask how awful traction is going to be with the 4.30s. I currently have 245 Nittos 555 extreme ZRs (just the summer tire) on it. Will I be ok with careful clutch modulation or is it just gonna be tail happy with some nice 2.2 60's until I pick up some DRs?

I pull a 2.2 60' with a MT drag radial and a 4:10 so... make the switch to a 15" wheel like I did and you will be ok.

its all in how you drive it. i had a stock 89 mustang 5 speed i would go 1.7-1.8s all day with bone stock tires with pony wheels. and a whopping 13.9 et...its how you launch the car and slip the clutch

I think a 4.30 would be perfect. Mine had a 4.10 and it was the wrong gear (was in when I bought it). The biggest thing with the 4v is keeping the rpm's up on launch (as I'm sure you know) because once they dip under like 3,500, you're done. With 17" Cobra R wheels mine would go 1.8's pretty easily.
