97 Cobra.. Street car or Race car?

Ok.. heres my dilemma.. I bought a 97 Cobra roller almost a year ago from Nashville, TN. The car was sold new in GA. the 2nd owner from TN bought it. Now I'm the 3rd owner and ever since I bought it, its been sitting in the shop with 71K on the clock. I was thinking about building it up for NMRA Real Street class, BUT I used to have a mint 96 Cobra (see avatar) that I cut up to go drag racing. Long story short, after cutting up my 96 Cobra to make into a drag car I swore that I would never cut up another original Cobra.

I guess what I'm looking for is some advise on what to do.. This is my idea without cutting it up. A built 4.6 DOHC.. turbo/blower, T56, a/c, leather and power everything.. Say 600-700rwhp@3400# daily "nice weather" driver... or fuck it and build it into a racecar.. Let me know what you think.

I go with the street car approach.. Full out drag cars just dont do it for me.. Purpose built bullshit....A street car with leather and a/c that you cant drive to California and back seems way more practical and IMO sick. Considering its a "something" car, (cobra) not just some 4cyl fox shell that no one gives a fuck about....

I dunno. I'd make it a street car, and drive the piss out of it, more than just 1/4 mile at a time.

just my .02

Thanks, I was thinking along those same lines.. This was the car I wanted when I bought my black 96.. I wanted a white with black leather, and this is it. It was actually built the same month as my birthday.. a sign maybe? lol

I would build a car for your lifestyle. If you can afford a race car and plan on racing it alot, then so be it. But if you are going to build a race car and barely race it do to your life being just to busy then I would build a street car.
