96 crown vic/ broken diff and I have questions!!

I have a 96 crown vic PI, the rear has made some noises recently and eventually turned into a locked unit......It ended up breaking today.

My question is.
I am ASSuming it is an 8.8 rear, does anyone know whatother cars parts may work in it? or I may just put a mini spool in it? any knowledge on what spline count came in the car??

It is an 8.8 in that car. 98 and up they started the watts link set-up. Any rear end from a 80-up crown vic/ LTD/ town car/ grand marquise will fit.

If you want a stronger rear end you can put a early to mid 70's 10 or 12 bolt coil spring reand REAL EASY!!!! Let me know if you have any questins

all you need to do is get a new t-loc unit and gears and have a sho[p put them in.

or go to the bone yard and swoop the whole rear axle assembly off another aero vic like yours.
