95 gt... oil in the intake manifold?

just thought i would post on here and get your guy's input on this...

info on the car~ 95 mustang gt, ~ 302, 25k on the rebuilt long block, Windsor Sr. heads, stock cam, eldebrock performer upper/ lower, bbk shorties, catless h, etc... noticed the other day the plenum cover is wet around the seal and there is a oil "stain" on the dr. side valve cover near the back of the plenum cover (like it is dripping out of the seal). pulled the cover to find a decent sized pool of oil in the upper. now mind you i don't ever smell oil burning or see oil come out the tails at all (unlike my old block)

now it has a newer pcv valve and the breather tube that runs to the intake pipe just has a long rubber line running to the ground instead of the intake to keep oil out of it... any idea's on a fix here guys? can i put a catch can in line w/ the pcv or something? again the car runs great besides a small stumble here and there while cruising on the e-way from time to time.

any and all help is greatly appreciated motown:cheers:

All the 302's ive owned have had oil in the intake.....i do believe from my experence its pretty common. As long as its not too much you shouild be ok.

There are a few problems.

You need to make sure the pass side breather hose goes from your valve cover to your TB, This is your fresh air inlet and on occasion vent. If this tube is going from your VC to the ground you have created a homemade vacuum leak. Remember these Fords were designed as a closed crankcase system.

Some Performer intakes as well as GT40 style intakes are known to suck oil as the lowers have an inadequate size baffle. First make sure your PCV screen is there and grommet is in good shape. You can buy and air/water seperator from Home Depot and get some 3/8"s barb fittings and place it between your PCV and upper intake to monitor and help catch the oil coming through.

Usually if it is an excessive amount you will see a puff of white smoke at start up because the oil will pool up in the upper and sit there until you start it.

Let me know if you need any more help.
