94 mustang v6 to carbed 5.8 swap fuel system help?

have everything pretty much set up but the fuel system and i need some help! i still have the efi pump in the tank and i wanted to try and roll the motor over to see if the pump would pump out the fuel but it wont for some reason? (no im not trying to just hook up the efi pump to the carb i do have a regulator im gonna put on).

if it helps ive deleted the engine harness and i have the option of using the old style pump on the timing chain cover but i can find an older fuel tank pick up for it...

U dont need to turn the motor over for the ELECTRIC fuel pump to work. just key on 12v should activate it, should be able to listen for it, U should just re-wire the pump urself to know its done right. without good size feed line and return line ur probably just going to end up burning up pumps. do it right once and be done with it
