94-95 Mustang GT transmission swap

Has anyone swapped out the AODE in a 94-95 stang GT 5.0? For a 4r70W? From what I have gathered, the donor transmission will need to be out of a 99+ V6 stang or 4.2l v6 f150, or a 5.0L mountaineer/explorer. What all has to be changed. If you have actually done this, or know someone who has, please let me know, I am looking for any insight/suggestions. This is not going to be a performance build up. I want it to be just like stock, the car is NOT for going fast.

I think nothing other has to be swapped. It might need a special tune for it, or a trans controller for line pressure. I had a 4r70w in mine with the 347 for a while, with no other mods. Its almost the same trans but with a wide ratio gear set.

you'll have to reprogram the gear ratios in the pcm. the 3.8 share the same bellhousing pattern as the 5.0.

Why not just get a budget overhaul ?

Mine was a 95 and a heavy drop top. As far as being a diffrence.. I never ran the car with the AODE, as soon as it started to get mods the stocker crapped out on me. I had Joels on joy do a full Build on a 4r70w and never looked back, It always seamed like the car pulled harder in each of the lower 3 gears.on ly car it seamed like there was a sweet spot when shifting from 2 to 3 and where the RPM's wanted to be. With the 4r70w it felt easier to hit, when the car was stock the AODE had a hard time hitting that rpm sweet spot.
