91 Mustang GT MOD-FOX 4V drivetrain

91 Mustang GT hatchback. Took a complete donor car (97 Cobra) and installed the drivetrain into the fox body.

DRIVETRAIN:
It has the complete wiring harness from headlights to tail lights from the 97 Cobra. 4.6L DOHC Cobra motor, T45 trans, 97 Cobra rear end, 97 Cobra spindles, fox body control arms, 94-04 steering shaft, steering rack with new fox body tie rods. 97 K-frame, PBR 11" brakes, Cobra, vented rear brakes, ABS. 97 Cobra radiator, fan, A/C condensor, overflow bottle ect. New Spec Stage I clutch kit, turned flywheel. 97 Cobra gas tank, fuel lines, brake lines (front to back).

INTERIOR:
94-97 Black dash, 97 column and steering shaft with PATS system and key fobs, 99-04 midnight black console with large cupholders, 99-04 GT front and rear leather seats. 99-04 midnight black carpet. 91 real black door panels (painted armrests) real black sill plates and kick panels, 91 black quarter trim panels (painted black) Tail panel cover is real 91 black. New black carpet in the hatch area. Mach 460 sound system is modified to work in the fox body. Sounds okay, but has the slight popping of bass like a lot of the Mach 460's do. AM-FM radio with CD below. Air bags are there, but are not hooked up. Auto-down drivers window. Power Locks with key fabs.

EXTERIOR:
03-04 Ford Torch Red paint. The whole car was painted, all the trim was painted, all the factory moldings are still on the car. 93 Cobra grill, 93 Cobra spoiler (Wings West) 93 Cobra bumper (Ford), LX tails. Car was and is solid. No rust repair was made, no patches anywhere. Underside of the car is painted black.

WHEELS AND TIRES AND SUSPENSION:
17x9 03-04 chrome Cobra replicas in okay shape. Faces of spokes nice, (inner wheels in braking area) starting to peel. 255-40-17 Kelly Chargers up front, 275-40-R17 Summitomo out back. Lots of tread on all tires. 96-04 spindles, fox body springs, 97 Cobra axle, Monroe struts, Monroe Shocks. (All new, 500 miles ago).

MODS:
BBK CAI, Bassani X-pipe, Flowmaster cat-back. New Spec Stage I clutch, 3.73 gears, Polyurethane motor mounts, Polyurethane steering rack bushings. New brake pads, rotors and front flex hoses. Stock shifter with short handle (works and feels great) Trans looks much newer to be original and shifts great. New plugs, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets and every drop of fluid in the car is new. LRS upper and lower rear control arms with polyurethane bushings. Front ball joints and tie rod ends are all new MOOG. Car is not tuned, so the check engine light is on, but the car starts up and runs out just fine. Haven't had any issues with that.

I've put 500 miles on the car since I finished it. The engine has 95,000 miles on it, but runs great. The heads and crank area was clean when I installed the new gaskets. Trans was pretty clean when I got the donor car apart, so I'd say it's newer, it shifts great. Front end alignment done in the fall, steering is tight. This is the second mod-fox I have built, lots of work to do it like this, buying one done would be much easier than building one yourself. I like the car, it feels pretty fast for what it is. You can tell it has more pep than your average 5.0 fox body. A lot of people ask me how it feels, so that's what I say. It's not a race car, it's not a 1/4 mile car. It's dependable, reliable and fun.

Asking $10,500 o.b.o.

How hard is it to do the swap? and would it work in an 86? Sorry for the Hijack....Beautiful car GLWS

It's okay no worries. The dash will work in an 86. I had it in my 81 Mustang on my first swap. Heater box, dash, everything fits the same. The dash is the first thing you should do once the car is gutted. If you can get it to fit right at the cowl, test fit the column, steering shaft and rack....and clear the fox door handles, you're golden. Just get a hand held air grinder with the 3" cut off wheels and start using that. Masking tape to help guide a first timer, a friend definatley was nice on the first one I did. This time it was just me. Another thing that helps is having the windshield out, but is not 100% necessary. I had mine out for both swaps. But keep it around to lay it in there to see how it fits when the dash is mocked up. Pulling it out 4 or 5 times or more to make adjustments is normal.

You do awesome work Matt! If i could afford it i'd buy it!

Thanks Mike! I know you saw my yellow coupe with the 2V, maybe I'll get this one up there soon one weekend!!

this is dell, i love the dash!! overall awesome car

Thanks Dell, the dash is a must for a modular swap. ;)

Cool car! GLWS!

Thanks man!!

Thanks Aaron. We'll go for a spin. I had it out yesterday to take these pics. Sun kept hiding behind the clouds but I had to get something. The ones I took in the fall were blurry cause I dropped my camera...prolly at one of your parties. LOL

This car is so sweet. Love the interior swap. So cool.

Thank you!! I've built 5 fox bodies and this is the 5th one. Gotta be my all time favorite, if not, it's tied with my yellow coupe with the 2V. The 4V is so much cooler looking and quicker than a 2V though. I love how it revs up, it's a dead giveaway it's not a 5.0!!
