91 Dodge Daytona electrical issue

I just picked up a 91 Dodge Daytona that will still stay running with the key off.
Sometimes the switch will stick when you go to start it and causes the starter to drag unless you pull the key back. Sometimes when its running the radio and heat will not work unless you sit there and wiggle the key around.

If i turn the key off and the engine continues to run all the lights on the dash come as as normal but the engine still runs fine. To shut it off i have to either pull the coil wire off or keep turning the key on and off untill it shuts off

Check engine light comes and goes its Code 41 Alternator circut open/ short dont know if this has something to do with it or not alternator is charging just fine.

I already replaced the ignition switch. Could there be a problem with the tumbler or something else in the culum or in the wires. When the key is turned it unlocks and enguages everything in the ignition switch dont know if it could still be bad though

Guy i got it from said sometimes if you stepped on the brake pedal when turning it off it would go off. I kind of think he is full of shit though but who knows.

had the battery out before and it was all good this car has zero rust thats why i bought it. The battery was just replaced and the cable ends are clean.

There are some fuseable links just in front of the fuse box. Your problem is things staying on not being powered up. Sounds like a bad ignition swtich and our switch tubmler problem. Can you pull the key out of the ignition with the vehicle running ?

Not sure of the design, but it sounds like the alignment of the switch in relation to the key detents is off.

I am personally thinking that the lock cylinder is messed up

remove the lock cylinder, and work the ignition switch with a screwdriver(or similar), see if it turns off then
