89GT Project Getting Underway

A little update on the progress. Motor and trans are ready to come out. I plan to take them out as one unit, because I really don't want to deal with lifting an aod out from under the car. Wiring harness is disconnected on both sides back to the firewall. I have class this weekend, so I will have to pull the motor and trans out middle of next week. Once the motor is out, I will get some more pics.

Well I have been making some progress, but it has been slow going. Currently I have the engine bay stripped and the interior most of the way out. I am going out of town for 2 weeks, but when I get back the car will be going to the body shop to get the engine bay filled and painted. The best news is that I convinced the wife that it would be a waste to have a blower cammed motor without boost. She has since decided that she would like an s-trim on it!

Today is a good day...Convined my wife that her car needed a kick in the ass, and she finally agreed. I just picked up a Novi 2000 kit for it! Now I just have to spend the winter acquiring parts.

I'll try and get some pics up this weekend. I am going carb'd for the build, so if there are any blow-thru guys out there I will probably have lots of questions. I have a holley 650dp I will be converting for boosted app. I am thinking about using the msd programmable 6al-2, so I can adjust timing curve under boost. I don't have any idea what distributor to run yet, so any feedback would be appreciated.

Its time for the snowball effect to begin. I went down to Colombus this morning and bought a dart iron eagle block for the car. Now that I have a block to handle lots of horsepower, I have no choice but to build a motor to warrant the use of the block.
