Looks like a decent ride, that was a favorite color of mine :D
Eighth digit in the VIN is engine code: E=305ci V8 (LO3) F=305ci V8 (LB9) S=173ci V6 (LB8) 8=350ci V8 (L98)

Ya I wasn't sure I've heard different answers on the 305,or 350 thing but either way this is a nice ride for the money

Its an 89 true factory convertible. The 6th digit is a 3, 8th digit is an F.
5.0L(305) TPI with an automatic trans.
It came with the CZA3 option package, basically fully loaded.

Nice car! I've always wanted a vert! BTW No verts came with the 5.7 from the factory.

I thought that was the case.

Not entirely true. There were ASC conversion convertibles. Basically sold new at the dealers as convertibles. The cars vin 6th digit would be a 2 making it a hard top allowing it to have the 5.7 factory, then sent out to be converted to convertibles.

Thanks for clearing up the info for me,you would know since you owned this car for some time and spent a lot of cash on it,lol

That is possible, I had no way to speak for that. Just going by GM production stats :D

Wouldn't there also be some form of ASC plate/tag on the vehicle someplace as well?
