88 notchback

Well i just thought i would share my build so that you guys can see and more importantly people can offer input. Unfortunately i am not allowed to post pics yet but should soon. So here is what i got. 2 moths ago i bought a white 88 notch back off cl for super cheap. It was a Georgia highway patrol(still had all the lights and siren wiring it, even found a ticket book under the back seat). Someone before me had done a few low budget mods and a beautiful coat of eggshell white house paint. lol The car is strictly going to be a street race car. I would like it to look decent but its purely about performance and hooking and booking on the crappy Detroit streets in the 1/8th and 1/4 mile. Here is what i have done so far...

vic jr intake
600cfm electric choke carb
125hp NOS powershot kit
4.56 ring and pinion
strange 10ways for the rear
cj ponys lowering springs up front
29/9/14 et drags
15gallon fuel cell with a high flow Bosch pump and holly regulator
steeda full length sub-frame connectors
b&m shifter
under-drive pulleys with the smog and a/c removed completely
1 3/4" headers with h pipe and flowmasters
pro comp heads with scorpion 1.72s and a comp cam
pro-comp hei distributor
gutted interior
front sway bar removed
im sure a few more things i forgot but that's the bulk of it.

please help me find my weak links and proposed next mods. as soon as i can post pics i will just need a few more posts. thanks

Sounds like a good project! And just so you know, those SSP cars usually are worth decent money and there's some SSP people out there (not me lol) that would cringe at you for not keeping it original.

Open a photobucket account and link the pics here..

Welcome sounds like a nice build. Get those posts in so we can see your ride

Oh yeah and you just opened a can of worms. These guys will have a twin turbo set up on your car before this thread is done. :-)

Yeah it was already past the point of keeping it stock when I got it. Owner before me had done some goofy stuff. I will look into the photo bucket thing and try that. Btw this is my first ford build so should be interesting.

Oh yeah and you just opened a can of worms. These guys will have an LS twin turbo set up on your car before this thread is done. :-)

Fixed.

Sounds like you're on the right track for going in a straight line! Should be fun!

I also just purchased a stock c4 trans because my car is a aod. If i decide to go with the c4 i will defiantly be doing some mods to it before i put it in. I know what you guys are saying about the ls twin turbo stuff and that's cool. Let the crying begin but for me i am all about american muscle and traditional hot-rod type builds. For some reason i just cant buy into the turbo route because it just seems so foreign to me. I will leave the turbos to the Honda's and import guys... For me there is nothing like a strong motor and alot of spray.

Working on a 351w with a scat forged internals. Hopefully in the next few weeks and then yes lots and lots of spray.
