88 5.0 Bogs From Dead Stop

Recently picked up an 88lx that has some work done to it. I got the car and the Guy really didn't tell me exactly what he had done to it. The problem I'm having is that it will bog when you lay on it from a dead stop. The guy had nitrous on it before I got it. The timing was at 0 degrees advanced. I bumped it to 14 and it woke up alot. But it still bogs off the line and it will also pop through the intake. But once it gets to about 2500 it pulls fairly strong. It has autolite 103 plugs which is 2 steps colder. Was thinking the cam may be advanced or something? What else should I be checking.
List of mods: stock lower end, gt40 heads, gt40 intake from explorer, 544 lift cam not sure on duration, 30lb injectors, 65mm throttle body, 73mm C&L maf is calibrated for the injectors. C4 trans with a converter that will only flash at 2500. 4.33 gear and a 27" tire.

Changed the tps sensor cuz the wires didn't look good. Also set it to 1 volt. Didn't change at all. Found a vacuum line hooked up to the map sensor. Disconnected that and helped a little. I have been taking out alot of the hack wiring that was in the car and noticed that the wires that go to the coil come directly from the msd box. I know that not how you hook up msd on a fox car. But the wires from the box that are for a distributor are wired in the harness by the driver side strut tower. Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not. I don't know if the car is throwing any codes cuz there is no cel on an 88

Yea if its not in gear it will rev just fine. At idle the pressure is in the low 30s. Full throttle I would say around 39. I have a gauge inside but its so damn small its hard to see. Idle pressure may even be high 20s

Put a bottle back on it and I bet it runs like a champ.

the 30#'s are killing it a bit they are to big for heads/cam combo but would work ok with a dry nitrous kit. I had a 91 convertible setup like that It bogged so bad out of the hole on motor due to the tight converter for the nitrous most people thought I sprayed them once it came into the power band. It still went 12.80's on motor best pass on a 150 shot was 11.90@128 with a 1.9 60ft had no suspension work on it lol just et streets. It ran great on the bottle though was a completely different car.

Really your only options are going to be put a dry kit on the thing or change the converter to something setup more for N/A.

I have a nitrous kit waiting to be put on. Have alot of other things to take care of on the car first. And I am currently in the process of putting a manual trans in it. But what about the popping through the intake? I was messing with it the other day while cruising around in high gear I noticed if I first hit the gas the converter would flash to 2500 but if I pedal it it would flash to 3000. He car has a t-rex inline pump. It also has the stock fuel pressure regulator tho

I think with the cool plugs and them 30lb Injectors you may be dupming to much fuel form a dead dig. How does It run If you bring It up on the converter ? I think I would put a set of autolite 25's In It and 24lb Injectors & stock maf and go from there. That Is my $.02 worth of Info. Good luck.

The brakes will barely hold it to 2000. But if I bring it up to that then let off the brakes put the gas to the floor it will stumble and fall on its face for a couple seconds then take off like it should.
