86 Capri Project

so we tore down the block today and found out that the previous owner really sucks at building motors and im lucky i decided to rebuild it... we found 6 #2 broken piston rings and one of the main bearing was completely missing.!!!!! and most of the bearings were wasted badly... cylinder walls are still good. and we got her stripped down and primered. plans are to have it built to a short block by saturday.. the heads still need a little work.

no its hard with that because if he powershifts it and isnt good he will miss a gear and it will rev to hi heavens, put it on a button like mine is and let off between shifts

NOOOOO

Micro switch and a window switch in combination. The window switch controls on and off with rpm set the off 300 rpm below your rev limiter..

So works like so...

Arming switch supplies 12v to window switch.

At wot micro switch closes, which grounds activation wire on msd window switch, msd box looks at settings turns on at low rpm setting turn nitrous off at high rpm setting.

per say you shift your motor at 7000rpm in a stick shift car I would shut the kit off at 6900 and have the rev limiter set around 7300. Never taking my foot off the floor when rowing gears just pull the gear change when you feel the kit turn off it shift real easy when the power drops for a sec.

never asked you but did you get the stuff I sent you foxbody?

I'm kind of scared what I'm going to find when i drop the pan on my 302 and check one of the bearings.

the cylinders are honed and we are putting the piston rings in now....going back in about an hour...somebody needed a break.

well we got quite a bit done.. we are going back in the morning, got sick of the diesel fumes..lol, all we have to do is compress 4 more piston rings torque the bolts, check the clearances, then oil pan. heads wont be ready to go on until wednesday.... looking like we are ahead of schedual for once.... :)

got the cam in, new timing chain, gotta get new bolts for the cover. the other ones are rusty and i dont wanna use them...
