well i've started working on this again. pulled the drive train out, sold the th400 and bought a t56 (from the guy that built the volvette, if you guys are familiar with that swap!). unfortunately, it seems like one of the previous owners slapped a bunch of jb weld all over the passenger side short block. i'm not sure what they were trying to do... i asked everyone that had the pinks car in their possession and no one knows about it. i think it was mostly covered by the rusty k-member and the starter though, so it's possible that it was overlooked. anyone that was involved in the build/testing/tuning of the car know about this? (i've asked mikefastss, 86 notch, sean, and jameser) i'm not sure if i should pony up now and get a new shortblock or not. i have no experience in putting together an engine so it will either be out of my budget or a gamble on how fast i can pick it up... i'll post some pics of it later of the jb.
i ditched the aje and got a maximum motorsports k-member - i'll have to get mounts fabricated for it though. i think i'll be taking my car to Thomson Racing Fabrication in Milan for this and to get my new subframe connectors, sway bar mounts welded in.
I also got a complete 8.8 with torsen diff and different coilovers from a shop's road race mustang part out. so far, I got k-member and front suspension mostly in (still need to square it off - but need a second person for that), rear end mostly in but i have to start installing the panhard bar which will require lots of ocd measuring and drilling - if anyone likes that stuff and wants to give me a hand - let me know! cobra brake booster is in, cut off one of the subframe connectors and will be going at the other (i don't know why it's taking so goddamn long with a recip saw).
i picked up some more stuff from that shop off their mustang.
breather box
custom baffled aluminum fuel cell and custom aluminum surge tank
i also got aluminum door skins, lexan, a custom rear diffuser, a hatch with lexan, and some other bits they were just getting out of the garage. not sure what i'll end up using - but i'll probably do the fuel cell after i get bosch pump and a filter.
turbocoupe pedal assembly, mc/slave (just need the mc arm to weld to the tilton mc), tilton mc. the tc pedal assembly is being used because it's the only fox chassis car with a hydraulic clutch - and it bolts right in with no modification.
