81 fairmont project

Well, she came to life today. Had a few little issues but in the end it ran well. Its not as loud as i thought it would be having 3 inch exhaust but thats fine with me. I wish i wouldve remembered to grab my camera so i could have got it on video.

Yes it did! I cant wait to drive it. Gonna be a while tho unfortunately. I had a hell of a time getting the motor to warm up. Even with the fan off and running for 20 minutes it still wouldnt warm up lol! I guess that will be a good thing on hot summer days.

Sorry guys, no real progress lately. Im trying to find some rear tires right now then i will send the wheels out to get powdercoated satin black.
 
hi this is doc i just picked up a 81 fairmont myself and it needs alot of work however
i wanted it because everybody has a mustang and i had 15 mustangs my question is
what driveshaft are you using i want to use an aluminum one with the c-4 set up,it
was a guy on detroit racing said that you can use one from a 96 ford explorer 2wd
4dr only do you know if that is correct because i cant find one i have checked around
and people telling me they are all steel

That should be correct. Mine came out of a mid 90s explorer 4 door and it fits nice. You have to swap the ends though.
