81 fairmont project

looking good, but isnt that diamond plate heavy? i figured since you are going light it would be tin

Its aluminum diamond plate which isnt really heavy at all. I do need SOME weight in the rear LOL! Im still surprised at how light the car is. Even the stock hood feels lighter than the fiberglass one on the stang. I was eventually gonna buy a fiberglass hood for it but considering how little the factory hood weighs I would rather spend the $350+ elsewhere.

If I would have known how many holes needed to be patched on this damn car I probably wouldnt have bought it! Oh well, im on a roll now I guess. Im almost finished with the rust tepair now anyway. It should look good though after some paint is laid down.

Not much progress but hopefully this weekend i can get most of the welding on the car finished.

X2 nice car so i take it i can use foxbody front end parts on my 78 ? I would like to go with yube frony end.

Yes sir. Fairmonts/zephyrs are fox chassis also. The front and rear suspension is the same as the mustangs. The only difference is the wheelbase from what i hear.
