71 f100

I know, I know. And you know me to Jay. but this one is a family car that is staying in the family. If I do not do anything with it it will just sit til one the the boys motivate me. I will at least get it running for now.

leave it EXACTLY how it is.. cap and all.. Slam in the biggest damn motor you can ! match a beefy drivetrain to it and rock everyones world when you talk shit and hand them their ass with grandpa's old truck

What would I do?

-ship it to Michigan
-wash it
-perform a basic tune up and clean-up
-look on-line for inspiration from various enthusiast forums
-get the itch to build
-disassemble vehicle
-get sticker shock of "my big plans"
-get tired of my garage looking like a chop shop
-try to sell project only to get pissed off at bottom-feeders and wishers wanting vacuum caps or lugnuts
-eventually cut losses and sell project to first guy with cash who isn't a complete asshole

+1

yea just bring it to my house and make sure to leave the title in the glovebox

Never thought of it on my 70, but on the 53-55's a I have seen several guys use a 1st gen Mustang tank behind the axle. Fits between the rails. The rail widths are pretty close between the 53-55's and the 67-72's..

Another option is the GM saddle tank on the 73-87 C/K trucks. That might fit, certainly worth looking into.

This ^^ Actually had someone try to do this to me when i had my convertible mustang. They pull up asking to race for $200 I looked at the tires and they had ET streets on the back. found out later they threw a big shot plate kit on it throwing 250 at it ran it till they blew the motor up. Was pretty damn funny though with the grandpa cap and all on it.

At this point I have collected i beams off a 79 f150 with only 50k on it. low millage 93 mustang 5.0 with an f303 cam. 93 lightning headers, motorsport black fined valve covers, air gap intake, proform carb, flowmasters, and the darn thing is still down south waiting for me. I should have it home it two weeks. I just got held up, helping my mom take care of my step dad that was dying of brain cancer. Cars can wait when family is in need of help.
