70 Challenger R/T project thread

My tools of the trade. Anyone reading this who does bodywork, try using a piece of plexiglass cut about an inch wide and as long as you want. It works WAY better for blocking than any store bought block I've ever used. I still need some the short blocks for the small spots, but the plexiglass is awesome because you can get it around radius's.

Got some guide coat on it and blocked the right fender and 1/4 out. I'm pretty happy, have a few small spots I gotta address, and I still gotta hit the edges and small spots. I didn't think that 1/4 would turn out that good on the first blocking, it was REALLY fucked up.

And someone please tell me how to make pictures smaller, I'm not very computer savvy.

and when you make your plexi block cover one side in the fuzzy velcro for edges..works like a soft pad on a da and holds a bit of water as well...

Seeing that you have been hibernation in the Garage.....is it time yet to shave the beard?

Keep up the good work John. Tyler had all kinds of "exciting" stories to tell Julie when we got home!

He's definitely gonna grow up to be a gear head, no doubt about that!

I'm not shaving until this damn car is out of my garage. It's been a couple weeks anyway, might as well let it go another few.

It's done! Should be outta here this week, Coronets coming home tomorrow. I wound up having to use the junk fender that came with the car..... Not happy about that. Forgot to take a pic before primer, it was mud top to bottom. It looked even worse when it came back from the media blaster. All well. I have a before pic.

I'm not painting it, I'm not sure when it's getting some color. I'll post some pics when it's painted

Your not gonna spray it? That's the most rewarding part man, don't ya know body guys always get screwed out of the credit in the end. Atleast that's what all the body guys complained to me about LOL

I'm just a lowly body guy. I need to get my feet wet, but not on something that's not mine. I painted the bed and two doors of a lease truck I had, and it turned out good, but I haven't done much painting since then. I sprayed the trunk in this car after I replaced it.

Thanks guys! I'm just happy it's done. I drove my Coronet home today, so now I can get some stuff done to it.
