As I am 69 and not a computer wizard wonder why getting this box to run normal on my friends 455 OLDS such a major thing. I have seen them for sale used on certain car sites and venders when I ask why are you selling all say can't figure out the instructions or afraid to hurt the engine under power. So if was posted before I missed it if not ==H-E-L-P== -=-=-= I WILL try and fix my post it IS NOT the wiring or mounting and connecting the BOX what is wrong is the instructions to Programing the ignition curve ,because it has a very hard directions .The Timing is locked out and all the advance / retards are controlled with BOX adjusted with a LAP TOP Thanks -=-=-=

Where are you thinking you are going to run into an installation issue?

Which distributor are you using? If its HEI, you will need to know what type it is. Page 7 (4, 5, or 7 pin)

The key to installing the ignition boxes is choosing the proper point to tie the equipment in as well as using the proper connection hardware and methods.

I have seen people tie the ignition source (power when the key is on) to a radio and use a poor connector then the system wont turn on or will perform poor.

Page 4 states:

the larger red wire goes to battery only-use an eyelet to connect to the battery clamp post

larger black wire goes to batter neg-same way you do the positive

small orange to ignition coil positive
small black goes to ignition coil neg

violet/green 2 pin connector goes to MSD distributor plug for the magnetic pickup

All the rest are parts of the 8 pin connector
white/blue and plain white are used if you aren't using the MSD distributor
Red-on/off (keyed ignition source)
light blue vehicle rev limiter (if equipped)
grey- tach signal
pink-not sure that you would use this on your car. If you did, I am not sure if you need any other equipment for it to function

3 wire MAP connector
Brown/violet-5 VDC power supply
Brown/Yellow-ground
Dark brown-MAP signal wire

The problem is NOT connecting the box it is setting it up on lap top because it is the programmable 2 box ,and running MSD distributer have no problem wiring it thanks .Download the graft and rpm dials for #6530 than you will understand not a normal 6AL thanks for the long way to connect MSD boxes LIKE I SAID #2 box with ignition curve set on computer OK

Well Well on SUMMIT just type in #7550 MSD and there is a programmer for $215 that looks simple and easy now that is how to make money LOL
