Its not fun having a track only car so been kicking around the idea of building another car for a street fun car. This thing feel into my lap and welp it just looks too cool not to toss it together.

Plans are


Pump gas 351w with some decent heads that will have street-able manners and then its going to get a plate kit to give it a lil something something
C4 trans since I already have a good one and convertor ready to go
Foxbody factory four link 8.8 swap with all the fancy AJE rear suspension stuff they make for these things.
AJE front K-member with lower control arms and strut conversion.
Disc brakes all around.
Complete factory stock interior with some hidden updated must have items, like a hidden radio and new speakers and yada yada.
Plan to try out the 26x8.5 tire deal on it since the wheel wheels are small anyway, I think it'll look pretty sick lowered with that lil tire in there.

Yup, from what I'm told the parts all interchanged. The rear sub the sells is nice, uses a factory set-up for a mustang 8.8 on the housing. Has a upper box that goes in for the upper control arms and uses the same uppers as used on any foxbody, the lowers bolt in the forward leaf spring factory mounts and then pick up the rear on the stock housing bracket. Coils overs are used and go to the stock shock mounts on the 8.8. Nice little set-up, comes with a ARB as well made to fit around dual exhaust...

Front stuff uses a mustang strut/coil over combo along with fox or sn95 spindles and brakes, which lets you cut the big portion of the shock tower out next to the engine and gain a ton of header clearance room.

cool car but,this is gonna be a comet rolling on fox stuff,and handle like a mustang,70s hot rod only modern,i would like to see the old style wheels but thats up to derrik..
 
I dig the cast front 12 spokes but as Joe said, no Gasser for me defiantly out of my era lol. Plan is as mentioned foxbody suspension 4 corner disc brakes, street/drag. I want it to handle like a foxbody with good street manners and then be able to changes the suspension around a lil and make it go down the track on them lil 8.5 tires.

Lots of cool info here and lots of builds similar to what you want to do. You have to become a free member to look at the builds though. Lots of Comet people on this site. If you do join look up my build "project factory outlaw"
 
was just on their and the thread "our 65 caliente project" is very similar to what you wanna do especially the rear end and the front suspension. Lots of pictures showing the work they did.
