A stock GT is a 13.5 car, your buddy just can't drive

iunno ive been with him in the car and outside of the car before witnessed him bangin a few gears, no to bad really.... i dont know this is the second time working at the ford dealership here in port huron, and none of the stock gt's 99-present impress me anywhere near as much as a stock ls1 car. i think it sounds like gm might be holding back the numbers a little bit

It was only the most recent Mustang platform that made 300 HP with the 4.6L. The SN95's made about 260 HP IIRC.

Ill agree with that. I got to drive the latest generation GT with a 5-speed and it seemed like my bolt-on LT1 (at the time) would have had no problem showing it the tailights.

As many as there are running around on the streets ive never had a race against one yet.

If the new Camaro has the LS3 with that low geared 6L80 like the trucks it will run 12's stock. I already predicted 12.7 in good air. We'll see.

The LS3 won't come in the autos. LS3 is in the manuals, L99 in the autos. Still 400 HP for the autos, enough to add a couple tenths to the estimate though.

You mustang guys are just jealous that nobody gives two shits about the "new" (facelifted) mustang coming out because of the Camaro.

As far as performance if GM rates it a 13.4, it will be in the 12's with a good driver and some traction.

GM, unlike Ford, has a history of low-balling the figures. They wouldn't want to get sued by owners for the cars not making the numbers they claimed. The car will run faster than 13.3 most likely.

13.4 seems awful slow for an 108mph trap. My fwd can run 12's on a 108mph trap with 2.0 60's.

I think the new Camaro with the driver mod is an easy 12 second car.

Seriously, that thing is, like Al said, UGLY AS FUCK...what the fuck was GM thinking. I love the Camaro, always been a Camaro lover and supporter, loved my 95 Z to death. Never owned a Mustang until I got my 91 in 99. But with how ass ugly that Camaro is, and how butt ugly the new Mustang is, looks like Ill be saving up for a Challenger.
