So I have a decent standard bore block "donated" by a buddy. He told me it had a busted pan bolt. Yup. Sure does. No problem.
I put it aside and start collecting parts for a little street 331. Time to pull the block out and start prepping it. The area around the broken bolt was pretty trashed from someone's attempts to extract it. I made up a little fixture to center my drill over the hole. My drill bit doesn't do a THING. I switch to a new, cobalt drill bit. All that did was shine it up. It's not a broken bolt. IT'S A TAP!
Bottom line: Anyone got a decent standard bore roller 302 block laying around? It's either that or find an EDM.
