and from what Ive read, the stock crank and rods (w upgraded bolts) hold up to more than the block will. Might not to use the good parts you have in a stock block.
 
yeah, stock rods and crank are not the problem, its the block that'll fall apart...
 
Make sure you put a lower girdle on the mains. It won't stop the block from failing but it will stop the crank from coming out the bottom at 120 mph. It may save your car and life!!!! I speak from experience.
