4G Sprint...

Anyone have any clue on when 4G is going to be available in Metro Detroit? I can't find it anywhere... I love Sprint... They never done me wrong whatsoever... But I want 4G and I'm considering moving all my phones to Verizon to get 4G since I'm paying $10 on each line for Premuim data but am not using 4G...

too many people on Metro PCS in the D so dont plan on any time soon, if you get the right person at sprint thats the unofficial answer. I used the 4g down in tampa is like a rocketship

Grand Rapids has it... My brother lives in Grand Rapids and loves it... Last month he went through 20gb in data alone...

I got an email from Best Buy selling a new LTE Evo phone from Sprint. The stores have been telling me they are switching too. If they tell me I have to buy a new phone to get the LTE speeds then I am returning my Evo to them strapped to a Rock thrown through their front window. Especially after they cancelled the one year upgrade program I was on!

The new 4g (lte) WILL REQUIRE a new phone. No questions about it. The old 4g,(wimax) will still be around but it won't be expanded or added to much if even at all.

I have been paying that $10 a month premium data fee for about 22 months. I can't wait until Sprint gets widespread 4g LTE.

If they change to lte then it should only require a software update for compatibility.

Nope they already released specs on the new LTE phones. 4G LTE has already been released in a few cities for sprint...

I've heard anyone who has a current 4G phone and is under contract will be offered upgrades to the new 4G LTE. Not sure how true this is

They had a problem with the signal interfering with another company in canada(i think rogers) from what i was told. Put a stop to the 4g here in detroit, and i think buffalo as well(they were trying to release it all the same day, something to do with football, i forget exactly what) In the end, the company they were paying for the Wimax ran out of $, and they are switching to LTE. This is what a customer of mine who has ~15 sprint stores told me the other day when I was bitching. Can't wait for my contract to be up. Can't even use my phone in my house at all. Friends with metro pcs, verizon, even ATT have no issues at all, even in the basement. Hope sprint goes under, and the executives get crabs.
