440 carb ?

i have a 440 in a dakota. right now it has a junk thermoquad carb and im looking to change it. i have a holley 650 dual feed dubble pump would it be alright or is it to small? the motor is stock with edelbrock intake (streetmaster) and maybe a small over sized cam. the truck is street driven and will be at the track alot. oh ya and it has 125 shot of nitrous

440 mild cam headers? go with at least a 750!

TQ's are not junk ,like every carb they need adjusting,and besides its most likely a 850 or even 1000 cfm,the plastic main body helps keep fuel cooler too!what year is the carb?

unless it has ever backfired, and the plastic main body melts.............

true, but main bodys are now available aftermarket,havenot used one but have heard they are good quality/fit and about 60 bucks,for a cheap fix ,they are the easiest to rebuild,easy to adjust and are great performance type carbs adjustable 2nd adjustments/tweeks (linkage),my dad always had TQ's on all his MOPARs and they acted great and got better gas milage than aney carb he experimented with over the years except q jets but they are verry similar,id like to do one myself ,actually its on the to do list i get HORRIBLE milage with my holly 770,and i know ill actually be upgradeing BETTER PERFORMANCE AND GAS MILAGE in my opinion AND you got to love that sound they make WOOOOOWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
