Looking at getting a 4 post Storage Lift for my home Garage. Dont want A 2 Post, Have those At the Shop. Just want a drive on four post for more garage space at home!

looking for something like this...

doesnt have to be a rotary cuz its not going to be used everyday and will not be used to work on cars. strickly garage space.

Anyone ever use the one in the link?

I have been wanting one forever but my ceiling isn't high enough. I was gonna get the casters and push it out on nice days to work on a car but I figured I would just build the pole barn first before I get the lift....

i am also looking in getting one for more storage. My ceiling isn't tall enough but having some builders come and look into raising the ceiling into the attic.

I really need one of these, I just haven't had the time to make it happen. Let me know if you're going to go to Indiana to get it, maybe we can split the fuel costs or something and bring back 2 of them.

I love my Direct Lift, zero problems. I would recommend the 220 volt motor over the standard 110v for sure. I also have one sliding jack for the lift tracks, work great for tire rotations, brake work, etc. Shipping the lift from Greg Smith Equipment may be better than picking it up, since you have to pay sales tax if you buy it there. I have a 10' ceiling, and it works o.k. but I'd also like to open the rafters above the lift so it can be raised completely.

^ Did they ship it right to your house? I thought they would only get it to a shipping yard in Detroit or something like that? Was it expensive?

I just drove down and picked mine up, but if shipping wasn't too much of a pain/ a lot of $$ shipping might be the way to go.

What's the minimum ceiling height for the lowest of the bunch....haven't had a chance to google search it yet

Says both vehicle heights plus 6". That will be the minimum ceiling height needed for storage.

I actually bought the lift itself used from another member here last summer, maybe he will chime in about the cost of shipping. It was easy to disassemble, load in my enclosed trailer, and reassemble at home with only 2 people. I did however buy the sliding jack new from Greg Smith, and that was shipped by truck on a pallet to the dealership I work at, because they wouldn't ship freight to my house. The jack is very heavy, and I think shipping was around $125.

contact Aresco, they are on Walton and Baldwin. You can go there and talk to the owners, they are cool as fuck to talk to. My boss got a 2 post, realized that the arms werent gonna work on his car, they swapped them, not once but twice at no cost. And now got him low profile arms at cost.

BTW - I just measured the posts on my four-post Direct lift. They are 6'10" high, just under 7' so it can fit in a normal garage opening.

How do those Aresco lifts compare quality/beefiness-wise to Bend Pak and Rotary? Just curious.

The American built one that he bought is said to lift 10,000 but they said its not your typical 10,000 that the Chinese ones advertise, it could probably do double that amount. Its that beefy. If anybody went to Autorama, they are the ones that always have a 4 post lift with a drag car on it. Sorry Brian, I dont know enough about those brands to compare.

I have always wanted a lift just no room, but when I was looking into it, Aresco was the way I was leaning. I was going to buy a two post because of all the work to be done without tires then I seen the four post with the lift jacks. That imop is the way to go.
