4 post lift at home?

I have a few Qs for the folks who use a 4 post lift at home. My usage would be 90% storage, 10% wrenching inside an attached garage so I'm not considering 2-post lifts. New Rotary, Mohawk, and Backyard Buddy lifts exceed my budget. I'm after an extra tall unit, but I'm limited to <210" overall lift length without ramps.

I'd like to hear opinions, experiences from guys who use the common import brands- Bendpak, Atlas, Eagle, Advantage, Wildfire, Dannmar, Direct, etc. Which brand do you have, or have experience with? What are your likes, dislikes and would you buy that brand again?

We have a rotary at work (import now too) works well if you are going to use it for occasional work make e sure you can add jacks and that they arent crazy overpriced

Rotary is a good brand, Bendpak isnt bad either. As stated above, if you get a 4 post, get the jacks that go in the center. The 4 post is nicer for just parking a car so the suspension doesnt hang and stress bushings etc. They are super easy to drive on and just press the button to lift. If/when I get a home lift (need a bigger garage) I will go with a 2-post due to space saving and ease of wrenching. I used to wrench on a 4 post lift and its a bit of a challenge.

If it's for storage then I don't see the point of buying a commercial lift. I have the Direct lift and probably raised/lowered the car 4 times in six months. I used the bestbuyequipment website for prices and then bought / installed from Aresco locally. FYI, if you buy from Bestbuy then they will contract Aresco for the install but Aresco will usually knock a $100 off when you buy direct from them. I was able to get the drip trays for free.

A jack tray is on the list. I can't justify the cost of the sliding scissor jack.

How wobbly is your lift at full rise? Thanks for the bestbuyequipment link and info. I'm waiting to receive a couple more quotes before driving up to Aresco.

11.5, the lift is resting on the top locks.

They come with a jack tray.

It's four point solid, I wouldn't use it if it was wobbly.

Trade a 93 coupe roller for that Cobra as a roller? :D

Shipping company dropped the lift off today. Based on the holiday last week I thought it showed up quick. Should have it all together saturday.

Exciting stuff! As if we need to tell you, but post a pic or two when you get it all set up.

How was it dealing with them? Thinking about ordering a challenger 2 post from them this week. Did you need a fork lift to unload?

It was an easy transaction. They forget the instructions so they emailed them and I printed them. Yes we needed a forklift to unload it. I'm Gping to use my engine hoist to get it off the trailer ton ight.

I had it together by 6 pm. Raise it up for the first test and it won't lower. I have the release lever adjusted perfect. I put every weight I own on it and it's stuck. It will lower one click and then stop. Checked everything with a level. 5 hours I've dicked with it. My cars are stuck outside and I'm fed up for the night. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
