When my cars cold -not all the way up to running temp- oil psi will be @ around 90 or so, I get a rattle,
then when the oil pressure comes down & the coolant temp is up the rattle is gone??????
I THINK the sound comming from the left head area. Could this be piston slap or a chain tensioner or maybe
somthing in the head? I figure the 4v guys on here could give me a place to start looking.
 
I would guess something in the valve train....What weight oil are you using??......It looks like you got a blower, maybe something is just wearing out under the valve cover.
 
I hope thats all it is. It was doing this before I put the vortech on, but I thought it was an exhaust leak. I run 530 non synthetic.
 
Stock motor? Mine use to do it on cold startup...blow a little blue smoke as well..

Dont worry about it, plenty of them do it.
 
Ya its efd up, its driving me nuts, it will only do it when Im going through the gears under a load @ about 2200-2800 rpms. I know its not the trans because it did it before I put in the new c4.
