OK My GF's dad has a 2002 Mustang vert. that he wants to make a nice streetable 12 second car out of it. It's a 2 valve motor. He already has long tube headers, Magnaflow exhaust system and cold air intake on the car. It's a T45 trans and he has a short throw shifter on it too. What does he need to do with this 2V motor to make the power? No nitrous. Thanks for your help. It's his toy to keep him busy. Nice clean car. Just had it painted 2 tone!

Thanks
Mike

The blower is gonna be the best idea IMO without getting into the engine and eventually spending more money then the blower would cost.

With a blower or turbo you can have the street manners of a stock car, wont need a tall gear in the back and as long as its tuned properly it will last a long time making some really good power.

Thats what I told him but he wants to check other ave. before he sets his mind on one direction.

You need a power adder. It's probably going to be cheaper than just throwing parts at it and trying to go 12's

So these 2V motors can't make any power n/a? Thats a bad design on Ford part then. I understand what your saying but I thought maybe some head porting and cam swap would get him high 12's with a gear swap of course.

You can make it go 10's on just motor if you throw a stupid amount of money at it but at the end of the day its still only 281 c.i. and you need to make up for it with a power adder.

Yes it is a bad design on fords part, but its something thats been known about since 1996, lol No other way around it unless you wanna spend alot of cash and "maybe" get your goals. Me personally, I would go for the "for sure" thing and get some boost!!

IM gonna agree with almost ALL obove statements.....car needs boost and some good tires....yo will have your 12's all day long.

To do heads, cams, intake, and all that shit on one of those you can get a blower cheeper and most likely make more power!

Burn it to the ground, collect the insurance money and buy a LS1 :D

How hard would it be to install a 4V Cobra supercharged motor in? He's found a few for like $8,000 with trans and wiring

not hard at all, they drop right in as far as i know.....maybe some small shit here and there. thats a hell of a deal on a termi drive train if its decent parts.

Man, shy of the 2V Blower cost but thinkin about a 4V swap??!?

For less than the $8K for the 4v, you could get a Kenne Bell Twin screw installed and trump the output of the stock 4V (Really...) .
Not to mention, the 4V swap can be a PITA, it's more than the motor- new wire harness is needed, etc..
Take the cash you would've spent on INSTALLING the 4V and forge the bottom of that Blown 2V. NOW your huntin' deep in the 11's...

this is prolly the first time u heard this..... but ur gonna need a blower.

but seriously any blower, with the mods you got will put you in the 12s all day
