I graduated in 1987 and there were still some on the road. A kid in our graduating class died in one on Farmington road in Livonia. He spun out on ice and got rear ended....it burned just like the rumor said it would.

Good Lord, that's terrible! The bumper/gas tank position was a serious design flaw in the first year. It was changed in the later years. I have a fuel cell planned for the future that's for sure.

Cool, I was hoping you were going to say that. I think a fuel cell would make it at least as safe as any other car from that era.
