24# injector questions

whar cars came with 24# injectors that will work on a 5.0 ?

i know the sn95 cobras did but chances ill find one of those at a junk yard are slim
the mark 8s ? continentals ?

going junk yard searching today and need some cars to look at so im not all over the place , also what colors are the tops of the injectors ? ive seen atleast 3 diffrent colors

will any gains be seen with the 24# ers on a mostly stock car with just a cold air intake and exhaust ? or will i just be wasting my time ?
 
wasting your time and it would slow your car down with stock heads. You won't need 24# inj untill you put a set of heads and intake on it.
 
ok , are there any stock throttle bodys that are bigger that will bolt on to the 5.0 intake ? gt40 TBs any bigger ?
 
I think (and I may be wrong) the biggest throttle body you can put on a stock Intake Is 65mm. If you run 24 lb Injecters you will need a maf meter calabrated to the 24 lb Injecters.
 
You can put ona 70MM with the proper spacer, but the intake is only 65 or less. Save up and get a used set up with intake and T body. Don't need 24's till you go heads intake cam. 19's are fine untill then.
 
getting a gt40 intake setup tomorrow for a steal , 50bucks for the upper and lower

You will still be good with 19 lbs. If you are really worried about it get an adjustable regulator and turn the pressure up to 40 or 42 psi with the 19.
 
someone told me when i got the car that if i pull the vac line off the fuel regulator and cap the ends it boosts the PSI by like 10#s or so , is this true or myth ? good idea or bad idea ? .... what all is needed to do the gt40 intake setup ? egr looks diffrent , sensors all the same ?
 
That will only raise your IDLE pressure, This will most likley hurt you on the launch. The vac is gone at WOT and the pressure comes up that 10 PSI your talking about. SO at WOT it is the same just fatter down low. I see no gain in that. IMO someone else may think diff.
 
Marks did I used to have a full set that needed rebuild but honestly more fuel won't do any good other than kill your mpg my brother has an sn95 with all cobra intake injectors tb and m/a sensor his reacted very well with it but his car also has a fresh 302 and quiet a bit of bolt ons pushed it 14 flat spun all the way through first and second focus around the bigger stuff also if you where having egr issues (from I think I remember) all that extra gas will do is really make the problem show

thanks man , yes i was having egr problems , i got a new egr valve thow and fixed the issue , . , only reason i was asking about the injectors is because im just looking for cheap and easy mods to do without ripping into the motor to much and spending a ton of cash , at at max all id like to do is gt40 setup ( upper and lower intake and gt40 heads ) or maybe a trick flow intake if i can get one for the right price and one of the ABC cams , ive already got CAI and full exhaust and gears , not looking to build a 1/4 mile king just a nice daily with some small balls that i can take to the track once in a blue moon ...... think budget build lol
 
My brothers car was built for 6 grand including the car witch as of now has only been out of California for 4 years but yeah I know what you mean but those cars wake up pretty good his car did all of that with a 308 gear getting 20mpg freeway being really nice to it and if you get that intake if it's a cobra gt40 gasket match and polish as far up as you can get if it's a tubular port the lower I don't think there's much to do to the tubular side of it
 
so just saying ( i know its not going to be a perfect number but just a guestamate ) full exhaust with shorty headers , cold air intake , 3.73 , gt40 setup ( intake and heads ) , B cam , what should my HP be at and a guess at a quarter mile run ?
 
It really depends on the supporting mods and such I know that a 300 wheel hp fox will go 11's but those sn95's are HEAVY so I really don't know
 
gt 40 heads e cam exploder intake 24 pounds tb mass air header back 280-300 wheel in a fox i kno your motor is not a pi motor so yours prob will push 260 wheel u can still run low 13's in that car on a tire best mod for a sn95 is a h.o motor

It's a 95 it is an H.O. motor. If you go Gt40 heads and intake i would go E cam. should make about 260 to 280 HP. get a converter. TCI 433100 It's a 10 inch retains lock up and will stall 3000 on a stock motor.
