2021-22 Lions thread

Mike, are you hedging yet? If you put $1000 on the Bucs, you still double your money if Rams lose, and are still in the hunt for $5500 profit if Rams win. It's gotta be tempting you...

-Geoff

I did not. Popped a hernia last month and facing a bit of a hospital bill. That, combined with the crypto crash means no fun money at the moment

Just waiting for the Stafford haters to man up and admit they might have been wrong about Stafford. Biggest game of his career, plays lights out, and wins it with a length of the field drive in 40 seconds by dropping a pair of absolute dimes with ALL of the pressure on him.

For your enjoyment

Stafford was 28-38, 365 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, 1 rushing TD. His team fumbled four times, including 1 on the opponent’s 1 yard line and 3 on their own side of the field. Yet, they still won, thanks in no small part to his absolutely clutch 40 second drive down the field to secure the game winning FG. But y’all won’t give the dude his due and instead say Tampa didn’t show up. Laughable at this point [emoji23]

Tampa didn’t show up.
Arizona didn’t show up.

Maybe Matthew Stafford showed up [emoji2371]

Staff played the best game of his career. Let's see if he has two more of those! Next week they have San Fran at home AGAIN for the second time in a month. Should be an awesome game again.

Congrats to Stafford......wtf are the lions really going to do with another draft pick anyways?!

Rodgers contract up? Lions should give him 20 million 1 year contract to play here... guaranteed they'd sell out every game AND have a real shot at the playoffs

When it all came down to it… Stafford delivered not one, but TWO absolutely perfect balls… game on the line, and he delivered

Show me how you could throw a better ball

And then do it again 10 seconds later and 40 yards downfield

I dont follow this stuff that closely, but I dont think the ford family spends that kind of money. And who would honestly want to finish their career in Detroit??

Not sure if I told you guys or not… but I was on ESPN yesterday.

That was awesome!

In hindsight, last weekend was probably one of the greatest football weekends OF ALL TIME. Stafford with the clutch passes wasn't even the biggest story - the KC win over Buffalo is a game people will be talking about for decades. Brady (still the GOAT) coming up short, and San Fran beating Green Bay on the frozen tundra. I can't see how the super bowl isn't going to be a letdown (with the exception of people having $7000 on the outcome that is!).

It was an insane weekend. Every game came down to the final play..

Four games

When it was down to Mahomes/Allen-
-Mahomes did it

When it was down to Burrow/Tannehill-
-Burrow did it

When it was down to Rodgers/Garrapalo-
-Garrapalo did it

When it was down to Brady/Stafford-
-Stafford did it

All those years, all of those fourth quarter comebacks…. Y’all said it didn’t matter. Homeboy was just “padding his stats.” Maybe, just maybe, he was proving that he can be the guy when the money is on the line.

Still haven’t heard a peep from the Stafford naysayers as my guy continues to deliver when it matters

I don’t care if this is a Lions thread, but Tom Brady is retiring. Probably deserves a full thread but figured I’d mention it here if someone hasn’t seen it yet (almost impossible).

12 years Lions built a team around Stafford and he couldn't do dick with it.. Just happens to get a job where the Superbowls gonna be played, with a ready built team.. Kinda playing out like Verlander leaving the Tigers to play for the world Series Astro's
