2017 Camaro ZL1

Strange comment. I said his car looks great.
Totally strange when I quote the wrong thread... :D

Make more sense with this one...

[quote name="Fryguy302" post=2810856] [emoji38][emoji38]Here's a dyno queen with absolutely no mods except (totally streetable) tires, ready to stomp the other cars in this thread. Prove me wrong :)

Can I put a few turns into the race? How about a 50mph hairpin and a 100mph sweeper, both turns equally streetable....
No diapers allowed.

Have fun with those tires in the rain! So you have a $70,000 car that can only be driven on dry roads in the summer. Sounds like a great deal! Did they try to sell you a bridge with it too?

"You can't even put tires on it!"

"um...yes you can, here's a pic"

"Putting tires on it is stupid!"

LMAO

Your posts are seriously the dumbest ever. You embarrass yourself!

Once again, I still have the stock tires on the stock wheels and will run any car in this thread on the street or track with the stock rubber. And win. If you think differently, prove it! I'm waiting......

And by the way, I didn't buy a 700hp car to cruise in the rain anyhow!

Is there a place like that around here? I don't know, maybe I would? I think I only know how to drive straight though :)

You are truly ignorant

A 315 Drag radial will bolt right on, even with the stock wheels!

And handling and stopping??? Have you ever driven one? Do you know ANYTHING about these cars??

You are seriously a fucking moron if you think any of the cars mentioned in this thread don't need a drag radial on them to go fast.

And you're also clueless if you think the hellcat cars can't run with or beat any of these cars on THE SAME TIRE.

I've got one, if you know anyone with any of the other cars in this thread, let's line them up and see. I have two sets of wheels, so I'll match tires and we'll try it?

Bring your wallet too.

He really is the dumbest person on the forum. The amazing thing is that his stupidity knows no boundaries or limitations. It's prevalent across all platforms

Wtf did I miss in here lol!! A 315 radial will fit no problem on a hellcat. And it seems WhiteHawk is another butthurt hellcat hater trying to compare it to a pos Camaro that barely competes with the hellcat. Heck my stock scat pack charger with a stock tire gapped a zl1 supercharged Camaro at the track last summer that was just fucking hilarious.

I love the arguments, it's all personal opinion. I think the camaro is ugly, it would have to be so fast it goes back in time for me to drive it.

But then again I still buy cars from the 80s and 90s lol

What always surprises me is how poorly the performance oriented Camaros perform in the market. Z28 got pretty good reviews and a nearly $80k 2015 with virtually no miles already auctions in the $40s. That's brutal, especially when you have Hellcats and GT350s super hot, and GT350Rs straight nuclear.

If they aren't stepping up tire size, it really doesn't matter. Hellcat is dyno queen without a decent tire on it. The only chance any of them have to get traction is the Jeep offroad version! You know it is bad when the factory announces its quarter mile times with drag radials!

Taking our Hellcat to the track this year. New D/Rs and driveshaft so we'll see.

I was wondering the same thing. Even the zl1 can be had for a fair price with no miles.

I can't speak for everyone, but for me, at the price of the top Camaros, I'd just buy a 'vette. The new camaros and mustangs are getting even closer to the 'vette in handling and feel. The Hellcat is a completely different car. Like the others have said, it is the ultimate musclecar. It does not pretend to be a sports car like the Mustang and Camaro. Having said that, it is very comfortable, handles very well and has phenomenal brakes, and is still the quickest/most powerful. People in the back seat are comfortable as a bonus.

Geoff tried to defend GM's market strategy/pricing on those too. I mean, I respect the tech that's packed into the Z28s... the magnetic suspension and other bits are top notch and garnering rave reviews... but when you have unsold Z28s on the kits for 2 years even with nearly a 40% markdown, clearly they misjudged their target. But don't tell that to him... lol

I certainly get picking a Vette over a Camaro. The Challenger is definitely it's own deal. I certainly get the appeal and it looks cool/is comfortable. I drove a ZL1 a couple miles and that was enough for me.

The crazy thing is at the same time 15 Z28s are auctioning in the $40s, I saw 2 GT350Rs (which by any metric are at least somewhat similar in intent) sell for $97k and $98k at dealer auction.

I'm curious if the influx of the ZL1 and upcoming Z/28 will do anything to cool off the GT350/R sales. Trying to find one at MSRP is downright painful. I wasn't sure if the lack of an automatic, or the lack of a convertible would hurt demand, but it doesn't appear so. I'm aiming at a '17 GT350 with the electronics package if I can ever locate one who will order at sticker.
