2017 Camaro ZL1

so your faulting a vehicle on the factory tire size? I never kept factory any tire any wheel on any vehicle I've owned.

I've seen a few 2016's on the street and in person it really in an improvement. It looks lighter as well as being lighter. Pretty nice. Adding lightness is always good. I love the look of the Challenger (saw a couple this morning) but dang are they heavy. I don't think it hurts it for what it is but it's almost a different catagory than the "pony cars".

If they aren't stepping up tire size, it really doesn't matter. Hellcat is dyno queen without a decent tire on it. The only chance any of them have to get traction is the Jeep offroad version! You know it is bad when the factory announces its quarter mile times with drag radials!

What kind of moron would run a stock tire on any of these cars? If that was the criteria, they shouldn't be making this kind of power with any of them

So you are going to cut your quarter panel or maybe narrow the axle? Put a minitub in it? Have fun cutting open tires if you don't!

Dodge did a grreat job with the powertrain, but forgot about the chassis and weight management. The Hellcat is the modern embodiement of a 70's muscle car - including the weight, handling, and tires. I am saying they need to finish the job and build a performance car for the 21st century, not the 20th. Ford and GM have both figure this out. Dodge hasn't.

Dyno. Queen.

Heard rumor at the watering hole that Dodge is also stepping up the Hellcat as well here shortly. I was told there will be another "WOW Factor" like when the Hellcat hit the streets:gr_drivin:dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:
Sweet!, are they going narrower on tires too? Maybe go full retro and throw some Polyglas tires on too.

You think the ZL1 is going to have Hellcats chassis problems right out of the box? No way.

Dodge sells a $60,000 car that needs tires the day you buy it? That is bullshit in my book.

99% of the light trucks on the road today have shit tires on them...and plenty of them are over $60k as well. ALL manufacturers are guilty of that one...

You are truly ignorant

A 315 Drag radial will bolt right on, even with the stock wheels!

And handling and stopping??? Have you ever driven one? Do you know ANYTHING about these cars??

You are seriously a fucking moron if you think any of the cars mentioned in this thread don't need a drag radial on them to go fast.

And you're also clueless if you think the hellcat cars can't run with or beat any of these cars on THE SAME TIRE.

I've got one, if you know anyone with any of the other cars in this thread, let's line them up and see. I have two sets of wheels, so I'll match tires and we'll try it?

Bring your wallet too.

I've read a few comparo threads between Mustang, Camaro and Challenger and often times the remarks are that the Challenger is way better than I thought it would be, and the Mustang and Camaro are not as good as I thought they would be. Almost 100% say they would rather have the Challenger as a DD, Hellcat is still fastest, and it seems hard also to beat the the bang for your buck of the Scat Pack. The Challengers stop just as well, and only the top packages for Mustang and Camaro outhandle the Challengers. It seems Challenger pretty much wins or ties in all categories except handling and fuel economy. OK, I can live with that, because the Hellcats and Scat Packs still handle quite well, and I am averaging 21+ mpg with my manual trans Scat Pack for the first 7,000 miles (the automatics get better fuel economy). I drove a Camaro and yes it felt more tossable than the Challenger, but I liked the Challenger better in virtually every other category except fuel economy. My impressions are, Camaro is cramped, interior and gauges are not as good, noisy (but engine does not sound as good), more expensive, no faster, no back seat or trunk and I don't like the looks as well. So yeah, Dodge is really screwing up. They can't build the things fast enough.

This is a 315 Drag radial on a stock wheel

Here's a dyno queen with absolutely no mods except (totally streetable) tires, ready to stomp the other cars in this thread. Prove me wrong :)

Have fun with those tires in the rain! So you have a $70,000 car that can only be driven on dry roads in the summer. Sounds like a great deal! Did they try to sell you a bridge with it too?
