2016 Lions thread........discuss or discust?

Good job Aaron Rodgers and Big ben today

Once Rodgers got rolling, they whooped on the Giants pretty good. I don't think they're good enough to win the Super Bowl, but hey, they're still playing....and stranger things have happened.

.. Thank you NFL for the schedule, you really make Stafford look good...

I believe earlier in this thread I asked you if you would take a number of QB's over Stafford. One of them was Rodgers. You chose Stafford. Good move.

Way to compare a injured quarterback to a healthy quarterback... When Stafford was healthy Rogers wasn't even close... When Stafford got injured his numbers started to decline and Rogers started to climb... But hey you guys don't look at the big picture or facts...

Before injury he had completed 67.2 percent of his passes and thrown 21 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions...

Rodgers same time frame had completed 63.4 perfect of his passes and thrown 21 touchdown passes also and had thrown 7 interceptions...

Look Seattle was a shit show no doubt because mostly they couldn't stop the run and the front offensive line needs to give him just a few more seconds to make a move...

But all you fools that are saying this is the SOL need to wake up... Quinn has only been in charge of this franchise for a year... He's making changes that are making a difference... This shit doesn't happen over night or in a season... All of you U of M fans and MSU fans can attest to that... :thefinger

18-32, 205 yards, with no TD's? Not exactly playoff caliber numbers. Personally, I find the back-and-forth comments in this thread to be pretty humorous. Rather than bother with a new thread, we can probably just mass quote the posts here, and save the wear and tear on our keyboards.

The Lions will have a lot to live down to in 2017, but I'm sure they'll find a way...they always do....

GO PACK!
Pack isn't going to make it all the way... They will get freight trained by Dallas and IFFFFFFFFF some how they beat Dallas... Atlanta has Austin Hooper coming back and Taylor Gabriel...

Well.....They did dispatch the Lions to win the division, and they are still playing. What time do the Lions play this weekend?....:dunno:

Stafford was sacked the same amount of times Wilson was, and Wilson was able to find the end zone.

And Rodgers played with an injury to his calf when they played Seattle and he managed to win.

these are all just excuses.

Just Making the playoffs is not good enough. It's just another game if you lose. So yea people are not going to happy with a mediocre product.

I'm pleased with the progress. They are on the right track. They need a few more pieces to the puzzle. A new QB is not one of those pieces

I'm pretty sure his decline also happened at the same time he started playing playoff caliber teams. :hmsign:

I think you can win with Stafford, I'm not a hater I just don't think he's on Rodgers level. At least he hasn't showed it yet over the course of a season.

I am pretty happy with the lions lately. I thought they had no chance of playoffs without Calvin, but they made it back. If they can step up the D next year, I hope we can get back again.

Staffords gonna be making 25 million a year.... More then any other QB in the NFL.... I got an idea, let's offer that kinda money to Rodgers, Wilson, Roethlisberger, BRADY! What the fuck does the Fords see in this guy? Must have a hell of a manager!
So in conclusion to this season.... Why did Caldwell keep Stafford in with a broken finger even knowing he wasn't even 50%? Should of been benched and a back up QB should of played.... I know, some of you are ready to mother fuck me BUT would it of made a difference in the last 4 games? NO THEY LOST THEM ALL ANYWAYS! Caldwell knew if he would of had the backup QB and lost all four games, he'd be looking for another job today, AND the Lions fans would never go for that going into (back door) the playoffs.. so instead kept in Mr.50% and PRAYED he won't over/under throw the ball to the receivers. (How'd that work out for him?)
Bottom line what hurt the Lions in the playoffs, Stafford scored ZERO points, Drop passes, Prater had to kick 50+ yards to make 2 field goals, and the dumb fucks getting penalties...
Definitely not a playoff (or Super Bowl) caliber team and no way is Stafford worth that kinda money (and a F150:lol:)

A.Rodgers put points up all game... got sacked a bunch of times and did not even phase him..talk about a 4th quarter comeback! AND they're still in the playoffs! If radio announcers (97.1) still think Stafford is an elite qb.... that word needs to be redefined!
I'm still not buying He blew the last 4 games because of his finger...

Stafford had a really good year and his decision-making has greatly improved...but he's no Aaron Rodgers.

And what was that about Dallas freight training Green Bay? LOL.

Spend money elsewhere. Build the lines up. Get better players. Get a running game with a decent RB behind a decent line. Then spend on a QB. Its amazing how that formula plays out for some teams.

How many points did Elite Ben Roethlisberger put up?

Rodgers played insane, no denying that...

But put a split on the middle finger of his (or any other QB's) throwing hand and what happens? Can't say 100%,but I'm sure it has some effect

I see what you're trying to do there but I think the longest field-goal was 43 yards not 50+. And Ben got to the playoffs by putting points on the board and not allowing his kicker to win the games during the season.

Stafford And the Lions just don't have the talent to get into the playoffs and be successful enough to get into the Super Bowl. Luck will only get you so far. It's easier just to blame the 4 game loss on his finger.... should've been benched

And yet another game with zero points from Roethlisberger... maybe they should have benched him. Clearly without Bell's 175 yards a game to lean on, he's been exposed
