2016 Lions thread........discuss or discust?

The latter half of your post you mentioned how Stafford and prater played well. "Well" isn't good enough based on the score. The whole team is a mess. You just keep coming on here trying to convince people that we should like this team.

Just glad this debacle is over

They did play well. Prater made his two kicks, can't ask any more than that of him. Stafford was 18-32 for 205 yard with six drops from his receivers... anybody who wants to pin this on him is insane. He played pretty well, but he got no help from anybody else. Even Barry can see that.... but I suppose you all know more than The GOAT right?

I'm just glad that you guys who say you're done won't be back next year. Good riddance!

I said the whole team is a mess. Meanwhile Richardson and Baldwin are making crazy one handed acrobatic catches for Seattle. Then They let Rawls rush for 160yrds or whatever. They just came out flat.

There were plenty of reasons the Lions lost this game.
-They couldn't stop the run (this is the biggest reason for the loss)
-The officials were awful and there were at least 4 bad calls that impacted the game (missed facemask on first TD, block in the back by Wilson on Rawls run missed, pass interference not called due to uncatchable, roughing the passer to extend the drive and eventually score)
- six dropped passes, three of which would have been 3rd down conversions
- Stupid personal fouls by veteran players including one that was on 3rd down

Stafford played pretty well, not lights out, but pretty good against a good defense... but the Lions shot themselves in the foot with penalties and drops, the Seahawks shot them in the heart with the run game and the officials did them in with a headshot via bad calls

I'm sorry but six points isn't "pretty good". Look at his playoff stats. You're delusional.

I'm sorry, but aren't you the guy who has spent the past xx years saying stats are meaningless? He played well. His receivers let him down. You're so eager to hate the guy that you're blind to the obvious.

Go watch it again. He played pretty well, didn't make any mistakes, made some great throws.... he can't catch it for them as well

18-32, 205 yards, with no TD's? Not exactly playoff caliber numbers. Personally, I find the back-and-forth comments in this thread to be pretty humorous. Rather than bother with a new thread, we can probably just mass quote the posts here, and save the wear and tear on our keyboards.

The Lions will have a lot to live down to in 2017, but I'm sure they'll find a way...they always do....

GO PACK!

Like I said, delusional. Stafford has been TERRIBLE in all of these big games. You can throw the stats out the window. Record says it all.

He wasn't Tom Brady kinda lights out... but he certainly didn't play poorly. I'd give it a 7/10... what it wasn't, was enough to pull out a win despite a poor performance around him and a few other "obstacles".... that's the next step that he needs to take, for sure. But it's hard when you make throw after throw (particularly on third down) and your receivers let you down.

There were failures all over the field, but they didn't come from Stafford or Prater.

As far as next year, I think it's laughable the way some of these "fans" talk. This is a franchise that averaged 4-12 seasons from 2000-2013. Absolute garbage. And they have gone 27-21 over the past three and went to the playoffs twice and people can't see the improvement? Just stupidity

If, at the end of the 8 years with Marinelli and Schwartz and 39 wins (yeah, 39 wins in EIGHT YEARS)... somebody said "would you guys be happy with a team and coach that brings you 9-10 wins a year and playoffs about 2 outta every 3 years?" You all would take that in a heartbeat while pessimistically saying "yeah but it'll never happen, it's the Lions"... now that that is where they are at, you're still bitching and moaning and saying they suck, they're garbage, etc... so stupid

Just Making the playoffs is not good enough. It's just another game if you lose. So yea people are not going to happy with a mediocre product.

.. Thank you NFL for the schedule, you really make Stafford look good...

I believe earlier in this thread I asked you if you would take a number of QB's over Stafford. One of them was Rodgers. You chose Stafford. Good move.
