2016 Focus RS

I think Cobb makes parts/kits for them. I don't believe I've seen/heard a modified one in the wild though.

There are a some "big turbo" STs around. People seem to run a GT28RS or a variant of it and are in the mid to high 400whp range.

The problem with vehicle pricing is perception of a $1.00. Nobody bitches that a Snickers bar is $1.00 today and 3yrs ago it was only .55 Oh and don't forget they are smaller now ;)

EXACTLY!!!!!

People seem to forget that EVERYTHING has gone up substantially in price.

Depends on what it is though. Technology gets cheaper and better over time as manufacturing processes are refined and silicon gets a higher yield of transistors per wafer as those manufacturing processes shrink. For instance, the Motorola MicroTac flip phone started out at $2600 in 1989 and was eventually about $1000 by the mid-90s. For comparison purposes, $2600 back then is about $5000 today adjusted for inflation. A new iPhone costs $700 now, or about $370 in 1989 dollars. Shit, I remember NES games costing $40 to $50 when I was a kid...games now are far cheaper and take a much larger development team to make.

Want one of these bad. Would be awesome to finally have an actual entertaining car that is fun in the snow.

Well, you got me on a technicallity.

I was speaking more in terms of raw material and labor. Technology comes and goes in wave. New tech is $$$$, once it has gotten the R&D cost covered and components are widely offered the price will fall and become more affordable(TVs, computers, gaming systems etc)

As trunk stated, the dollar doesnt go as far anymore. Specifically, vehicle buying, If you are going to buy a $30k car or truck you are not going to get a loaded model or the new MY vehicle. In the past 5 years there has been a large increase in MSRP to account for more and more "standard" features that used to only come on the highest trimmed vehicles half a decade ago. Add that with tighter standards and operating costs (fuel/energy/overhead)

I will definitely be looking into an RS once they're in production. Even though I just bought an ST.

but I do not hear them bragging about making billions...
Kinda like the guy in the cube next to you, who does a okay job bragging he makes x more dollars a year than you.

College economics class taught us "there is 100% inflation every 12
to 15 years" - in other words, most prices double every 12 to 15 years.

You can't even get man-well windows on anything anymore unless it's a work truck and that's even iffy.

Yes, look at the cost of a new Mustang GT, well into the 30k range

In 2004 a fully loaded GT was $17-18k.

But if you look at the "loaded" GT had the same options as the base cheapest Mustang you can buy now for example.
