2016 Focus RS

^ I didnt catch the pound. thanks. Obviously i saw the UK thing. That being said that puts it at like $45k USD, lol i hope that is wrong

Everyone is doing the same thing and, doing a direct conversion to the dollar which, is not correct.

Expect the car to be 35-45k depending on the options you pick.

~$35K for a F'ing FOCUS?! It better have $15K in the trunk. If the fit, finish, and build quality is anything like the current model, I cannot see how anyone in their right mind would pay that for one. The Focus isn't a bad little car, but for $35K I would expect something to be a little more solid and a lot less plastic.

The big three are getting retarded with their prices, all they care about is profits and profits only. I've lost so much faith in them in the last 5-7 years. I still for the life of me can not grasp how they can't get the mpg in their AWD cross overs like European cars can. Seruous it is a 25% difference in mpg when you take the comparable motors.

We're not talking about the econobox base Focus, this is the TOP LEVEL performance car. $35k puts it right in line with it's competition. If it comes out cheaper, it'll be even better for sales. Also, if you haven't yet, go sit in a new STi. You'll love the Ford in comparison. The interior is extremely bland in the STi by comparison.

Oh, and in regard to vehicle prices, take a look at this:

http://blog.caranddriver.com/are-ca...-only-feel-that-way-our-infographic-explains/

Long story short, car's have increased in price at roughly the same rate as household income has increased over the same period. That's not even taking into account all of the now required systems and crash test standards that must be met to even allow a car to be sold in the US.

My standard issue Focus was 28k, the price of cars in general is out of control.

Based on the Fiesta ST I sat in, I wouldn't have high hope for upgrades beyond supportive seats. Get in and look at as little of the interior as possible because the more you look at the less impressed you'll be, LOL. The mold line around the plug for the ignition switch on the column of the Fiesta ST looks the passenger in the eye and screams LOOK HOW HALF ASSED I AM!

An automatic (extra $) Focus SE hatchback (extra $) is under $20K MSRP (actually they are under $18K with current incentives). Not sure what you consider "standard issue".

Standard issue as in, not special. It is not a ST or sporty model at all, wasn't ordered the way it is, in fact it was a "shelf stock" car. It, in no way stands out in the sea of other Focus'.

By the time you add any options to have something other than a seat, gauges and a steering wheel, the price goes through the roof.

Fair enough. My point was simply that you need every option available to push even a Focus Titanium to $28K.

Not a focus, I paid about 17,200 for a new cruze eco 6 speed. Decent little car, like others have said about the focus lots of plastic parting lines. I couldn't see myself paying nearly $20k more for the same car with a hot engine. The ST was on my list, but at nearly 6k more and crap economy it just lost its luster for a daily driver.

I think Ford would sell the shit out of a model more aimed at the WRX, not the STI.

The 2014 ST's currently at dealerships have huge incentives. You can get the fully options ST3 for $5k - $6k off last I looked. That puts them in the mid $20k's and the ST1 and ST2 being even less.

I think Cobb makes parts/kits for them. I don't believe I've seen/heard a modified one in the wild though.

Yes, I've heard of Cobb getting on board early but was curious what the ragged edge was. Anyone jack one up to 400 hp yet?

Its only a matter of time. IIRC they run a K03 turbo which is pretty tiny. Im not sure how much they could potentially make with just a tune and some bolt ons though.
