2014 Detroit Tigers Thread

Scherzer rejects "Handsome" deal from Tigers for long term extension. He better hope he puts up last years numbers or he's going to wish he took it. Wonder if he really wants to stay a Tiger even though he not said he doesn't.

Greed. hope he sucks this year so he can look like an ass

If you're the best pitcher in the league, this is the time to strike. If he has a mediocre season or gets hurt, he'll look like an ass. We all know Boras goes for top dollar.

The Tigers just traded Steve Lombardozzi to Baltimore for Alex Gonzalez. This is another reaction to losing Iglesias. Gonzalez is 37. Lombardozzi can play more than one position. I don't like this trade.

At $142,000.00 a game, he better be hitting a few more home runs per game

It's a contract no player can live up to, people who have expectations of him living up to it are going to be disappointed. We know what Miggy brings to the game, if we can get that(or close) for the next 5/6 years I'll be happy. The last part of that contract is going to be just awful!

It took so long to get in because they were giving out Dodgers hoodies that I didn't get to see their batting practice which didn't help them get many hits.

Now this game had a happy ending, but Joe Nathan was a disaster again and I wish they had kept Joaquin. Smiley did a great job. Thank you Castellanos and Victor. BTW, each time Alex Gonzalez comes up the camera shows his face from the side and to me he looks just like Jhonny Peralta.

Watching all the Tigers games with Brighthouse's Extra Innings package almost all away games use the home team's announcers. It was nice Sunday to see Mario Imbemba during the 4th inning when he and Dick Enberg switched places. Before the switch Enberg told a story about going to Tiger Stadium as a kid and I'll bet he told it to Rod Allen.
