2013 Tigers Thread

It raining during the game between KC and Tampa. There can't be more than 500 people in the stands in KC.

Tigers fans showing up HUGE again so far looks like though. That afternoon game yesterday was packed (just over 36,000) for a fuckin Wednesday game at 1 o clock, impressive.

Cool Verlander video I ran across today on MLB.com. Really displays why he's so difficult to hit and/or predict his pitch.

That's a cool video...

Yeah man for sure. I knew he threw all 4 pitches from the same window and with the same arm action, but I'd never seen it like that before, very badass.

Looks like we're the only ones wanting to post here, our own personal thread or somethin? lol

Houston must be a AAA team. I've never heard of any of these guys except Carlos Pena. Still tied in the 12th.

That game was just nutty... Thankfully we finally cashed in some of our base runners and won that game. Houston with 6 hits in 14 innings... They are in a mountain of trouble these next 3 games. Fister, Scherzer, and Verlander. Honestly I wish JV was pitching the first game of the Nationals series rather than against these bums.

The end of that game was weird, probably less than 500 people left in there at the end of the game. Echos all over the place like a cave.

Porcello had 7 SO's which is good for him. As a team, Houston struck out 18 times in 14 Innings. Verlander or Scherzer my get that many in 9 Innings.

Yeah man Porcello actually pitched good last night, but consider the competition also of course... I was really shocked with home many times we struck out. We're a bad matchup for Houston because they strike out so much. I think Fister is gonna get quite a few K's tonight also, probably 6-10.

Ortega looked real nasty again last night also which was really nice to see.

Miggy is hands down the best hitter on the planet. 4 for 4 last night with a walk in 5 AB's, 2 MONSTER home runs, and 6 RBI's... Complete BEAST.

We all need to really appreciate this greatness we're seeing from Miguel because we may never see another hitter this amazing wear a Tigers uniform.
Miguel is currently leading the MLB in AVG at .390, RBI's with 36, and second only to Jackson in runs scored with 26. This is in only 29 games!
Miggy is off to a considerably better start than last year when he won the Triple Crown even.

Some other crazy numbers for you to marvel at....

OBP - .467 That's INSANE for a guy who hits for power.
AVG w/ runners in scoring position - .548
OBP w/ runners in scoring position - .615
AVG. w/ runner on 2nd - .643

These numbers Miguel is putting up are truly amazing. Something we've really never seen before from a big guy with so much power.
Just wait til the weather warms up more and the homers start flying on a more regular basis. It's really crazy to think about, but I think Miguel could very well win the Triple Crown back to back this year if he stays healthy. Only question for me is the home runs, but I think he's a lock for the RBI and AVG categories.

Miggy is truely amazing. I hate missing an At Bat for fear of missing those homers. With Jackson and Hunter hitting ahead of him (and getting on) and Fielder and Martinez hitting behind him, there is no way to really pitch around him. Definately going to see more pitches and get more hits, doubles and homers. What is amazing is that Fielder has as many RBI's as he does. I truely think they have the best 1 thru 5 batting order in baseball. And Infante is the perfect #9 hitter.

Now watch them get shutout...

I agree with all your above statements. We won't get shutout today though lol We're sweeping count on it.

1st Inning with a man on...Miggy hits it to the wall. Fielder comes up and puts it in the second row. 2-0 Tigers.

What a line up.

Well he had better start throwing more strikes or he's not gonna get to the 7th inning. This has been the only complaint I have about JV so far this year. He needs to be more economical with his pitches, too many 25 - 30 pitch innings.

Well, he left the game with 2 hits...

Yeah man JV still pitched a damn good game. It's scary because he's not even dialed in yet and he's been not his sharpest so far this year. Houston coming to town next week for 3 games too... I bet they're real excited about that lol

That play Miguel made was awesome also.
