For those who don't want to read, Cliff Notes:

"The 3860-pound 1LE posts admirable track numbers, too. Getting to 60 mph from nil takes 4.3 seconds; a quarter mile arrives in 12.7 seconds at 111.8 mph; braking from 60 mph to a standstill takes 101 feet. Most impressive: It achieved a 1.03 g average on the skidpad (for reference, that's stickier than a 2012 Audi R8 GT) and traced our figure eight in 24.2 seconds at an average 0.83 g. Here are the 'Stang specs you seek: 3640 pound curb weight; 4.0 seconds from 0 to 60 mph; quarter-mile in 12.4 seconds at 115 mph; 60 mph to 0 in 106 feet; 1.0 g skidpad average; figure eight in 24.6 seconds at 0.81 g average. Feel free to discuss below."

For reference, Cost difference between 12 Mustang Boss ($43,485) and 13 Camaro 1LE ($37,035)

Looks nice in white and black. I was impressed with the numbers until I read the Boss numbers later. Damn, I didn't know they were THAT quick! 0-60 in 4 FLAT? 12.4 1/4? WOW! That Boss is the BOSS. 1LE is a real nice piece though especially if you gotta buy GM.

Not to mention the fact you can't see out of the windows.

This. I felt like I was in a cave when I drove the camaro. Visibility out of the stangs is great. Wasn't all that impressed with the ride quality either compared to my '99 C5.

I dunno.... the flat black and white makes the thing look evil

and I would rather have a car that does 0 to 60 in 3.5 and 10.5 in the 1/4 compared to being able to pull 1 g

there should be a way to order them either as a corner carving rocket on rails or as a flat out/ balls out straight line screamer!

I'll take the Chevy and put the $6450 saved in my pocket. Can you do a blower for $6450?? Or just put a cam in it and call it a day.

I'll take a 1LE over a Mustang IMHO at least they got back to what the package was back in the day (a stripper race package) rather than the suspension upgrage it ended up as.

Unless you're road racing. :)

But we should be teaming up against the foreign cars. I have a bow tie and blue oval in my garage.
99.9% of the automotive population can't drive well enough to get the most from either one on a roadcourse.

This may be true, but even mediocre drivers can do better in a better handling car. I know I turned faster times in my C5 at autocross and the road course than I did with any of my previous cars, and it was because the CAR was better. I was still probably only getting 50% of the car's potential.

Nothing new here. Ford has the magic to make a lighter car faster in a straight line, and GM just phones it in and makes a heavier car faster around the track for a better price. Same as the ZL1 vs. GT500 debate. No need to post the WWII video.

and 80% cant drive well enough in a straight line. Take me for instance, you put me on a tree and Ill light em up halfway down

It's not as bad as you'd think. I enjoyed my car very much, and am tall. Not Trunk tall, but I'm rather tall still and it wasn't bad especially once you get used to it. Get a convertible and you'll have no worries.

If you compare the statistics of these two (handling-wise), there's not enough difference to say one is definitively 'better' in my opinion. Maybe with Randy Pobst at the wheel...but not you or me. Two or three one hundredths of a G is kinda splitting hairs.
And I'm guessing your C5 was a significantly better car than your previous rides.
