i agree, i'm not into the new ones so much. i don't so much agree with the materials being sub-par. they're still a hell of a lot better than what you find if you go to a chrysler dealership today. but you are right, we'll have to see what the final outcome is.
Love the red, stance, engine.. looks like an Evo/GTR lovechild.
Buy an E46 and then tell me the materials arent sub-par
You are basing all that on speculation that the car will handle like a pig. Until it's tested, no one knows how it will handle.
Once the ZF transmissions are geared up for Chrysler, I think they will have a very solid car....and after owning a "newer" BMW, I will never buy into how great they are. They make everything on the car from plastic to keep weight down, and they use the most craptastic plastic ever. I have never seen so many parts fail on a car. I mean seriously, the grilles on these cars fall out constantly. Cooling system has to be completely replaced every 50-60k. Trunk lift lip rips off the cars with normal use. Tail light wiring melts from using the smallest gauge wires they could find. Vanos unit(valve timing) need rebuilt because BMW used the cheapest gasket they could find. Just garbage.
Would it be ok to speculate that it will shit the trans out under warrenty, have electrical issues, and have the rear end give out by 80k miles?.. thats seams to be the chrysler way.
I think id rather have a car where the grille falls out then one that always need major repair. My parents have had 3 NEW chryslers back to back to back, and they are all a huge pile of shit.
sub frames were an early E46 thing. that part i do know about. pissing match aside, i know which one i'd buy.![]()

How much experance do you have with the NAG1 trans. Yes the almost 500HP of the new eagle 6.4l Srt hemi is impressive (465 were the Dyno number I was looking at). But the Nag is a tough trans. These dont break even when in a overloaded sprinter. Now the rear end may be in trouble if it ever hooks up!
I know zero about that trans, I just happen to know the history of the last 30 years of chrysler transmissions. Id be happy that they finally stepped up and stiffened some stuff up.
I don't know if i would call it a pissing match, I am just pointing out that all cars have issues, no matter how big of a fanboy someone is. If i owned a Charger and it had all the issues I have seen from the E46, I would be posting those too.
As far as the subframe being an early E46 issue, it doesnt change the fact that it happened, and BMW had to be sued to fix them.
