2012 regal gs

Being a Ford guy through and through I have to give Hyundai props. They have stepped up their game big time. Every time we have sales training from Ford, they elude to the fact. As for Kia, it's still a Kia. I've looked at plenty use one and they don't have shit for resale value. They are cheaply made (I don't know about the current models) and drive like a beer can with wheels.

Agreed. Over here we've said for a long time that once they figure out how to style a good looking vehicle, they're going to take off. The last few years they've made major strides in that area. Some of their cars are obvious copies of competitors but the Genesis line has looked pretty good for a couple of design cycles. I agree with Steve that this is good for everyone because it keeps us all on our toes. The new Fusion should do very well if we can keep the buzz from the Auto Show going between now and Job1.
Auto Show and Job 1 is a real pain in the ass for us.

Customer-When will the Taurus,Fusion,Escape and Mustang be here?

Ford dealers-That's a great question and I wish had a better answer than some time this spring/summer but I don't. Have you looked at the current models?

Customer-Yeah, but I think I want to wait until they get here (ends up looking at other companies and we lose a certain percentage of sales)

Shame on me I guess for being a home team fan boi, that's my priority. Not saying that the Asians don't make fine cars (really), because they do, but as for me I couldn't for the life of me be caught dead owning one because we have three fine auto companies based here in Michigan that put out fine vehicles, regardless of what the haters say. The competition gap is so narrow now because of parity, that it makes me wonder why people, especially on here, wouldn't opt for the domestics over the Asians. I'd be embarrassed to own one, so I proudly now and till the end of time support the home team. Fuck Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Acura, Scion, and Infiniti. We got great automakers here that make great products and should support them.

I agree that we should support the "home team", but the reality is there is NO LOYALTY in this world anymore. People will buy from another company for less than a few dollars (Walmart is a prime example) so hoping people will buy just because of mass amount of people that company employs doesn't matter anymore.

Too bad the Malibu is the biggest piece of shit car made. I'd drive the hell out of a new Kia Optima GTDI. I'm all for american, hell I havnt owned anything but Ford. But the styling of those new Kias and 270hp 4 popper with 100k miles warranty. You cant beat that.

Thats a badass looking car. I dont care if it says KIA.

The malibu is a giant fucking piece of shit. I hate mine with a passion.

I would not how ever drive a Kia.

I'm going with the latter. You say the Malibu is the biggest piece of shit car made, but you've never owned or driven one? Funny.

I have, it's a giant piece of shit. Sad part is I was warned, still got one.

Is there a small car that Dodge makes that you would seriously drive over a Honda or Toyota, or even a Hyundai?

Hell, other than a Wrangler, Ram, or 300, is there anything of theirs at all that you would buy?

It's not. I bought one because it was cheap and "good on gas".

Well I haven't seen anything over an average of 15-16 mpg. It's terrible.

Which one did you get? Used? Did you ever have a dealer look at it? Something has to be wrong with it if it's only getting 16mpg

I drove a rented 2011 Hyundai Sonata in September, if I had to buy a new car, I'd definitely consider one, great gas mileage, tons of power, I was surprised when I finally looked to see what engine it had, it felt like it had a decent sized 6cyl., it only had a 4cyl. In it

Grand Cherokee, Charger, Durango, Challenger.... & Journey would be a nice ride for my wife.

Was driving by the kia dealer and stopped by. Checked out the new optima sx loaded, very nice fit and finish. Didn't have the chance to drive it but might go back and do so. Has full glass roof, nav, heated front and rear seats, cooled front seats, 270hp turbo 4. It might be a future ride for me. I loved the regal gs but can't see spending the extra cash for it.

Holy crap, this is not what I had expected.

I really think the Optima looks sharp.

I think I'd go for something like a GLI though.

The inside is a very nice place to be. The Europeans still lead the way when it comes to the interiors.

The wheels on that Kia are terrible.

Also, not sure if it's a good or bad thing but the VW interiors haven't changed much in ten years.

They've changed a lot, actually. The quality is much higher than it was 10 years ago. And yes, nearly all new cars have ugly wheels.

Here's a MK4 GLI.

The feel of everything once you're sitting in it makes the biggest difference.

To help the OP a bit, while I don't own a regal I had a Turbo for a day, then a GS. Both are great nimble little things with decent smooth power delivery and beautiful interiors. I was sort of pissed that sitting in a $40k regal, it had nicer bits inside than my CTS that cost way more. The GS feels like an Audi S4 to describe it as best I can, with my only complaint being a notchy shifter on the manual (to be fair it was a preproduction unit). Everything else was great. I flogged it hard on some on ramps and it was stable and smooth, brakes and steering nice and tight, though modest wheelspin was there with FWD, big surprise. Hopefully the notchy shifter issue was resolved with the production units, not sure though.
