2012 Mustang GT 3.55 or 3.73?

Looking for a 2012 Mustang GT and trying to decide on gear ratio.

Normally I just go for the lowest ratio but online people mention needing 5th gear to get down the quarter mile...
Anyone have either? Michigan Freeway and the quarter mile, for the first time thinking of going to the taller ratio.

Stock car, sure the 3.73 may need to hit 5th... what about a taller drag radial to bring down the rpm and stall in 4th gear?

Owners of 2011/2012 6 speed 3.55/3.73 post up.

Isnt 5th 1:1 on the 11+?

Go 4:10s and never look back

4.10 isn't a factory option.

I prefer the 3.73 for the street but if the drag strip is a concern and you have to hit 5th at stock power levels the 3.55 is probably the better option for you.

wow into 5th? really?....
Those are some steep gears in the tranny...

I shift into 4th at 1100ft or so..
I used a 28'' inch tall slick and didnt get to the limiter in 3rd...

Id go with the 3.73's if your already into 5th...

I'm going 3.73
Just drove a '12 with 3.73 and they did not seem short at all. Thought the 5.0 would have more grunt, it could use all the gear it can get!

Maybe taller drag tires will keep it in fourth in the quarter mile.

I have had it to the strip one time and my car has VERY VERY stiff road race suspension on (read it doesnt hook up for shit) and in the heat I ran 12.6 (leaving off idle) I would like to go back out come spring time to improve this time.
