2011 Fantasy Football

It minimizes the draft and makes you have to watch free agency and jump on hot players that are available. If you had a bad draft or bad start you can make up for it and make a run in the playoffs. This is more of an arguement for more playoff teams than against it really.

I just don't see why it matters. I see what you're saying, but this isn't a money league, it's a league to just have fun.

I'm in. This year I need to know when the draft is. Last year I got fucked in the ass with a pitch fork. This year, I'm gonna rock this shit!

The counterpoint is that it makes actual management of a team more fun. Having to scour the waivers and free agents to find a gem is part of the challenge. It's more fun than just drafting a bunch of top-tier guys and then only changing things for bye-weeks.
If there's too much emphasis on having a great draft, and bad draft kills you by week 6, then people drop out and the good teams just roll.

Exactly. If 8 out of 10 teams make the playoffs, no team is ever really out of it so it keeps everyone checking their teams and trying to win.

because exactly what happened last year will happen. There will be sub .500 teams making the playoffs and then make some miraculous run to win it.

I think its the opposite if you want to keep teams interested. If only 1/2 the league makes the playoffs there is a BIG premium on every week.

What is this grade school where everybody has to win?? I'm out if more than half the teams make the playoffs, not that anyone cares.
