Like every year, OSU will get who they want in the state of Ohio. And it will take 2-3 years of solid recruiting before UM has a chance against OSU (or MSU).

OSU won't get squat if sanctions are coming. There was a 5 star RB that visited U of M because of possible OSU sanctions. I would imagine if sanctions do come, MSU will benefit as well. What's up with Sparty fans from Farmington Hills Harrison now converting over to U of M recruits? Hoke is cleaning house in the state of Michigan right now.

people said the same thing that USC would loose recruits, once OSU changes coaches the kids will come back, Michigan better enjoy its one year break

Arguing with Swift is pointless. He's never right, biased beyond belief, and can't put a logical spin to even his biased crap.

<--------(still not worried).....

You should be worried. even if OSU comes out in the fall and gets a slap on the wrist like reduced practice time, their reputation has been found to be the equivalent to a hooker with HIV who likes to strip naked, jump in a mud puddle and then get screwed by an anthrax laced dildo. Even the faithful are turning their nose and saying it's time Tressel goes. If Tressel is still around when the NCAA gets around to making their determination, it's going to be far worse than if he were to just leave. I've read on too many sites people screaming for Tressel and all upper management in the organization to step down to save the future of OSU.

Only thing OSU fans have to worry about is the NCAA punishment, Tressel is gone face it, the bowl ban and loss of scolarship is the bigger issue we all know they are coming

I think OSU might have more problems with the car deals if something is found to be an issue. That would fall on the compliance office. I still think for the money that Tressel brings in, Tressel will survive. Just my opinion.

Every year we hear how UM is kicking MSU's ass in recruiting. How's that worked out for you the last three years? Hell, even the remains on JLS's class ended up being better. Half of MSU's class last year was from out of state. MSU has been stepping up their national recruiting. They are doing fine.

again.......it's only kids playing a game. if um, or msu, texas, whomever, all beat osu for the next 10 years, i'll take the shit, quote some ancient, irrelevant statistics, and put my inimitable spin on things. kind of a yogi-speak, if you will......

Heck, I don't understand what the big deal about OSU is. They aren't even in our division... Who cares? Now Nebraska, that's a different story...

I think many dealers are fans/boosters and they try to get as close to a program as possible. Most stop at giving sweatheart deals to the coaches and some go overboard. I don't think anyone is getting a free car, like the OSU case where the purchase price was listed as $0. But I'm sure some probably were just under invoice, or were leases that were well beyond cheap.

I know one OSU player was quoted as saying, "I don't know about buying a car for nothing. Why would I still have a car payment?" (paraphrasing). What's the threshold? No benefit that any other student or person can get. Can you imagine going thru a dealers selling records over numerous years to see if anyone else got a deal at invoice or less (dipping into holdback). I like to think I'm a stingy buyer and have been within $100 of invoice (or less) when I've bought my cars. One of those was at 22. Could a college student negotiate that type of deal. I'm sure they could. Not defending OSU on this. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Just paid my grand for season tickets. Prices went up again. Gotta pay them players! lol

Michigan's Brandon takes the high ground:

U-M athletic director David Brandon sympathizes with Ohio State saga

Angelique S. Chengelis / / The Detroit News

Midland —Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon certainly wants to beat Ohio State on the athletic field, but he will not take shots at the Wolverines' rivals who are facing an NCAA investigation into its football program.
Ohio State recently received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA that accuse football coach Jim Tressel of lying to investigators. The NCAA alleges Tressel did not disclose information from a tipster who said some of the Buckeyes had been given free tattoos in exchange for signed memorabilia.
<!-- OAS AD 'Flex_1' begin --><!-- OAS AD 'Flex_1' end --><!--endclickprintexclude-->Michigan endured an NCAA investigation into the football program under then-coach Rich Rodriguez that concluded last fall after 14 months.
"I know what it's like to receive the papers from the NCAA, the notice of violations, notice of allegations and ultimately violations," Brandon said Tuesday night during a meeting with the Michigan Associated Press sports editors. "I know what that process is like. And when you're going through it, whether you're a coach, or whether you're an athletic director or whether you're a president, when you're going through it, it's painful, it's difficult, its stressful, and what you don't need is … anybody, particularly a colleague, poking anything at you.
"There were some people out there who did it (to Michigan), and I remember who they are, and I remember what they said. And we'll leave it at that - other than, I remember who they are, and I remember what they said. Those people who took great glee in the fact that we got ourselves in that kind of situation. I'll never do that."
Brandon said he does not have a command of the facts at Ohio State to speak on the subject.
Five Ohio State players, including quarterback Terrelle Pryor, have been suspended the first five games of the upcoming season. Tressel has been suspended those five games and fined $250,000 as part of OSU's self-imposed penalty.

Who took shots at the U of M when they were going through sanctions (talking officially, not swift and hangem)

Who took shots at the U of M when they were going through sanctions (talking officially, not swift and hangem)

Every college football staff recruiting a player UM was interested in. Every student or former student who went to MSU, OSU, Illinois (that hate UM almost as much as those from MSU), Toledo and App St. That should about cover it.
